Town mayor wounded in Samar shooting

The mayor of Tagapul-an town in Samar province was wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Sugod on Thursday morning.

Initial information from the Police Regional Office 8 stated that Mayor Vicente Limpiado Jr. was shot at the entrance of his farm by a still unidentified gunman. 

He sustained a gunshot wound in the back and was rushed to a hospital.

Authorities are still conducting an investigation into the incident.
