The Bitcoin address just made its first transaction in 10 years, sparking discussions about who kept the asset for a decade.
According to data Blockchain.com , the wallet appeared on October 1 , in which its owner transferred 50 BTC currently valued at about 528, 000 $
The crypto tracker notes that the only other transaction for the wallet dates back to 2010 when it received 50 bitcoins on May 25, 2010 from "COINBASE (newly created coins)," a term that refers to mining bonuses and does not refer to the popular exchange of the same name. Accordingly, mining bonuses in 2010 were still in their initial phase of 50 bitcoin per block. BTC is believed to have been sent to the crypto exchange Bitfinex.
Any bitcoin conversion at an early stage generates speculative talk that it could be owned by the mysterious bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto Blockchain analysts estimate that Nakamoto has mined one million BTC, starting with the first 50 BTC reward for the formation group on January 3, 2009.
The latest conversion is not the first Satoshi-era bitcoin to move wallets this year. In May, interest spread across cryptocurrencies after the sudden conversion of 50 BTC that has not moved since they were mined a month after Bitcoin was launched in 2009.
Cryptocurrency data company Chainalysis reported that some of the money appears to have made its way into the cryptocurrency shuffling tool. Blenders are designed to combine cryptocurrencies from different locations in an attempt to hide tracks and make tracking the origin of funds more difficult.
Bitcoin Core developer Jimmy Song denied speculation that the wallet might belong to Nakamoto, saying it was unlikely that the funds belonged to the legendary Bitcoin creator.
Song asserts that blockchain data related to the bitcoin in question shows that the coins are not connected to blocks that Nakamoto is believed to have mined.
