We generally tend to prioritise our convenience over environmental protection. Our attitude is on display every time we choose plastic over natural materials or grass-fed animal meat over plantations. Over the long run, this behaviour is destructive to nature because it depletes her resources and gives rise to numerous problems such as pandemics and weather changes. While many want to change their habits, entrenched habits make it difficult to do so. It seems that convenience and nature are constantly in opposition. But is this really so? Take a moment to think if you really need to cling on to that environmentally destructive habit. You will often find other effective methods for achieving your objectives. These are also healthier and cheaper in the long run. To incorporate these into your daily lifestyle, you will require the force of will and the determination to forge new alliances. So, patronise and reuse that old jute bag, for instance. Go out and eat that plant-based burger. This would not only create jobs in the community; but would also make your consumption healthier and simpler. After all, nature and convenience are long-lost siblings; not opponents.
