Hi everyone

Back to another session of macro photography.

Today I adopted another plant well known not only for its decorative ability but essentially for the most varied applications and benefits such as soothing, healing, anesthetic, anti-thermal and anti-inflammatory effects, and is great for moisturizing hair and skin... yes, i´m talking about the famous Aloe vera.
At first glance when we look from a certain distance it looks very similar in all its structure, not differing much between either end, but when it comes to macro photography, everything changes figure.

Without more delays, let me present the star of the moment

My introductory thoughts about macro photography:

It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.

Before moving onto the result...

Here i present the technique used through a short visual tutorial:

Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.

Let's now move onto the result:

F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/30 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 200
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/50 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/25 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/40 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 600
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/50sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/45 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/45 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/40 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 600
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/40 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/40 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/40 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400
F-stop: f/0 | Exposure time: 1/40 sec. | ISO speed: ISO 400

These photos weren't taken with a tripod, hence the unclear result.

Thank you for watching :)

For real? I usually save for web and use this format PNG-24 to keep the file light and not lose too much quality :( are you facing some slowness opening the article? here is instant

Current page size is 52.2 MB... It's pretty huge. It's about the size of a 1/20th of a whole movie :)

EDIT: Takes 25 seconds to load the whole page and I'm on a 100MBit connection :)

I think JPG should be more than enough for web version. I've tried https://compressor.io/compress (also https://imagecompressor.com/ ) and it seems to be able to cut 60% of the size of the image without any loss.

BTW since you're uploading full size images - you should at least click "Wide" on them and probably "Fullscreen" too. That way images are displayed bigger on bigger screens and open full-screen upon click.

These are not full size images, actually i resize them in PS before post, but i really need to try in JPG and maybe reduce a bit the quality... something that can reduce drastically the size.. also need to check those "Wide" and "Fullscreen"options.. thanks again for the tips ;)
