The Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering is one of the programs offered by the College of Engineering and Information Technology, that deals with the study of the productions of livestocks in Agricultural sectors, such as the plants ànd animals. The renaming of Agricultural Engineering into Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering was improvised by the commission on higher education; which is stated in the acts known as " Philippine Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Act of 2016" (Article 1, section 1) and RA10915 "An Act Strengthening, Modernizing and Aligning the practice of Agricultural Engineering in the country into the Internationally Recognized practice of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and for other purposes", which follows the CHED Memorandum Number 94, Series of 2017, that is effective starting in the academic year 2018-2019. University of Southern Mindanao also shows it's competencies since 2014-2015, (1st Semester) to 2016-2017 (2nd Semester) which produces 388 graduates of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering and two Master of Agricultural Engineering (which is now called Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, and Master of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) for the past 12 years. They also got a maximum of 162 enrolles per semester in the past 10 years until now. From 2013-2014 the passing rate of USM graduates during Licensure Examination was improved for the past three years leading by the fresh graduates. Indeed, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering does so well in uplifting the pride of University of Southern Mindanao. It is also in-demand nowadays not only locally but also internationally with the partnership in NGO's and local Government agencies.
The data stated in the articles was helpful for us to fully understand the sub-desciplines and will let us aware of the opportunities that we can get once we graduated as AB Engineers. Truthfully, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering was in-demand not only in the Philippines but also in other countries. It enables individuals to easily find a suitable job that can improve their living.
Aside from that, it will also promote our institution's great competencies globally in the field of Engineering. It can give us the chance of becoming a part of progression economically.
Moreover, it will also educates a one being about the essence of agriculture which he/she can realize the significance of a health nature in human's life.
In conclusion, I can attest that Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering is a great manifestation of the improvised country. It is worth studying, considering the benefits that everyone can acquire. It will help us control the production of organisms in which we can attain the environmental equilibrium.
