There is a debate in social media regarding why Mobile Legends streamers are not in Pro Scene. It all started in the live of Coco, an inactive pro player of Bren Esports and former member of Aether Main way back season 1. He made a statement and keep talking about why Streamers are not meant to play in Pro Scenes.
Well I get his point and actually he is right. The only thing that makes him look bad on viewers is he mentioned a name. The name that he mentioned has a fans of over 2 million. So it is expected that many people will get angry to his statement. This is actually funny because I am watching his live that time and I noticed that he was drunk while saying that stuffs. For short it was a murmuring of a drunk man.
What's the Difference between Streamers and Pro Player
This article is not meant to defend a certain person. I just want to share my views regarding this issue as an avid fan of this game since the first Professional League started.
Streamers
He says that streamers only focus on one hero to make highlights in their gameplays. I will agree with this. Mobile Legends Streamers have a very little hero pool that makes them unfit in Pro League. Let's just say they are more skilled than pro player in terms of that hero. But what will you do if your opponent ban that hero? You will be forced to use hero which you are not good with. That is the reason why pro teams prefer player who knows more hero that a player who only know 1 or 2.
They may look good in their highlights videos but their opponent is a random player with unknown skills. So I'm laughing that hard when Coco said "Mag classic nalang kayo mga tanga!" Because he know that some of their highlights came from classic games. Their true skills can only be observed when they play 5 man against pro players.
Pro Players
Being a pro is when you are participating in a major league of Mobile Legends (best example is MPL). Pro players are given to be skillful but what really defines them is they are not a one man army. They should have a good communication skills and chemistry with their teammates. Pro players differs from streamers because their skills can only be assessed when playing in group and not individually.
Streamers usually do 5 man rank games but you can see their teamworks is not that solid. In pro scenes every decision that they made was carefully executed and they always listen to shot calls from their captains. When they attack all will attack and when they retreat everyone should retreat. Basically pro players is not evaluated through their individual skills but rather their cooperation and synergy as a group.
What I Think About This Issue?
For me it is just simple. Pro Players can be a Streamer and Streamer can be a Pro Player. They need to choose between the two and you have to commit in your choices. When you observe carefully. You can't find in this industry a person who can do both at the same time. Yes pro players also do streams but did they do it every day just like the full pledged streamer?
Just think about it this way. Streamers is for entertainment and pro players are for competitive games.
Even Coco quit from Pro Scenes because he can't do both at the same time. When you commit your time being pro, you can't stream anymore. All you do is scrim against other pro teams in local or International. When you practice, you need to practice as a team. You can't say that you will just practice your individual skills in stream. Remember being a pro is not a one man responsibility. You need to build your connection with your team and win as one.
So I hope that this little issue will vanish soon. Especially that MPL Season 8 is coming. Who knows mayber you can see your favorite Streamers play in pro scene. Now that the MPL will be a franchise base, what will happen to the teams?
