Mohammad Wazed Ali was born in 1896 in the village of Bashdaha in Satkhira district. While a BA class student at Calcutta Bangabasi College, he joined the non-cooperation movement and ended his studies here.He then took up journalism as a profession. He worked for 'Masik Mohammadi', 'Dainik Mohammadi', 'Dainik Sebak', 'Saptahik Saugat', 'Saptahik Khadem', English 'The Muslim' etc. His notable books are: Mahamanush Muhsin, Maruvaskar, Syed Ahmad, Hazrat Muhammad (S.) of children etc. He judged everything with a very clean mind and rational mind. Simple expression is one of the features of his work. His prose style is straightforward, his writing fluent. He left Calcutta in 1935 for health reasons and returned to Banshdaha where he died on 8 November 1954.
