Krishnadas Kabiraj wrote the biography of Sri Chaitanya. It is known in his Chaitanyacharitamrita that Gyanadas is a Vaishnava of the Nityananda branch. Nityananda was a close companion of Chaitanya and a great leader of the Vaishnava society of Bengal. Nityananda has devotion and praise in many positions of Gyanadas. Reading the verses, it seems that Gyandas saw Nityananda very closely. After Nityananda's death, his second wife Jahnava Devi became the leader of the Vaishnava society. Gyandas was a disciple of Goddess Jahnaba. Narottam Das (c. 1540-1610) was one of those who took charge of the propagation of Vaishnava texts in Bangladesh after Chaitanya's death. He organized a great festival at a place called Kheturi in Rajshahi district and invited all the Vaishnavas of Bangladesh to the festival. It is known that Gyandas also took part in that fair. At that time he was about fifty years old. Gyandas can be a contemporary of Vaishnava poets like Balaram Das, Govinda Das.
According to some, he was born in 1530; According to some, between 1520 and 1535. Born in Kandra village in Burdwan (now East Burdwan) district of West Bengal. Kandra is 26km by bus from Katwa to Bolpur or 3 km from Futisanko. Nityananda's birthplace is this chakra village near Ekachakra or Ekachakra village. There is a monastery of knowledge and a temple of Radha Govinda here. On the occasion of the death of Gyandas, a fair is held at this place every year during the full moon of the month of Poush. Gyandas is said to have been unmarried. Otherwise, she was married and had a son.
The writing of the biography of the poet has been very beautiful.
