Humayun Azad, a prominent Bangladeshi prose writer, linguist, novelist and poet, was born on 28 April 1947 in the village of Radikhal under Bikrampur in Munshiganj district. Humayun Azad, a very talented man, has been teaching in the Bangla Department of Dhaka University for a long time. His notable books are: Poetry- Miracle Steamer, Everything Will Go to the Rulers, Shroud-wrapped tears; Novel - 56 thousand square miles, everything collapses, story - the death of a magician, essay - intense blue, enemy-friend in Bengali, syntax, red blue Diwali, how many rivers and lakes, etc. He has won many other awards including the Bangla Academy Award. Humayun Azad died on 12 August 2004.
