Balaichand Mukhpadday was born on 19 July 1899 in the village of Manihar in Purnia, Bihar. His father, Dr. Satyanarayana Mukherjee. Her pseudonym is Banful. He passed Matriculation in 1918 from Sahebganj English High School, Banful Purnia, ISC in 1920 from St. Columbus College, Hazaribagh and MB in 1927 from Medical College.Bonaful started his career as a medical officer. He entered the literary arena in 1918 by writing satire, poems and parodies in 'Saturday Letter'. He used to write one-page and half-page stories in 'Prabasi' magazine. The stories are small in size, but significant in speech. His notable short stories are:The story of the forest flower, more stories of the forest flower, the redundancy, the point, the follower, the urmimala, the telescope, etc. The diverse elements of real life and science have been skillfully expressed in his story novel.Banful died in Calcutta on 9 February 1979.
