Rain Lily is known to most people as Onion Flower.
We have been seeing galepi rain lilies to say onion flowers since childhood.
I don't think there is anyone in Bangladesh who has never had a galapee rain lily in his house. I have been acquainted with yellow and white for a long time.
But there are now more than a hundred species of rain lilies in Bangladesh, including single and double petal varieties.
Let's know some information about it and its care
1. Rain lily bulbs are national flowers. It is a flowering plant belonging to the genus 'Zephyranthes' and the family 'Amaryllidaceae'. Its scientific binomial name is Zypharenthis sp.
2. They like red, but in the shade and in this case the flowers are a little less
3. Rain lilies bloom more in the rainy season. Moreover, except in winter, it can be seen all year round.
4. They are usually mixed with 50% sandy soil and 50% cow dung manure. Soil sand can also be used instead of sandy soil. At the beginning of the monsoon, khail is mixed with rotten water, bone meal and even chemical fertilizers (TSP, potash, DAP) mixed with water and diluted in the soil to get good flowers.
5. Since they breed with bulbs, it is better to plant them in big tubs. Moreover, ripping can be done if you understand that there are more bulbs in the tub.
. If there is no seed on the stick after flowering, the stick should be cut off as spoiled flowers help in attacking fungi or packers on the tree.
. Their rage is much less, but their bulbs can rot due to fungal attack. The fungus non-crimson is more prevalent when the bulbs of the Thai double petals are released by the baby. For this, the tree should be kept in a dry place and regular fungicide spraying should be done during the rainy season.
