Changes in CAT exam pattern over the years:
CAT moved from offline mode to online mode in 2009. Since then, the exam has witnessed several changes in test structure, especially with respect to duration and total number of questions. In 2010, CAT was held for 150 minutes with a total 60 questions to be answered. Over the years, duration of the exam increased to 180 and the number of questions increased to 100. In 2010, the CAT question paper was divided into three sections – QA, DILR and VARC but from 2011 to 2014, the question paper had only two sections – QA & DI and LR & VARC. However 2015 onwards, it went back to the older pattern of three sections. Read more: Changes in CAT exam pattern
