Titles, riches, and fine houses signify no more to the making of one man better than another, than the finer saddle to the making the better horse.

Riches are apt to betray a man into arrogance.

Riches are of little avail in many of the calamities to which mankind are liable.

We may see the small value God has for riches by the people he gives them to.

Men leave their riches either to their kindred or their friends, and moderate portions prosper best in both.

Riches enlarge rather than satisfy appetites.

A man that hoards up riches and enjoys them not, is like an ass that carries gold and eats thistles.

Never respect men merely for their riches; but rather for their philanthropy: we do not value the sun for its height, but for its use.

If your riches are yours, why don’t you take them with to the other world?

Every day I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I’m not there, I go to work.

It’s better to have a rich soul than to be rich.

The desire for riches is more sharpened by their use than by their need. Pleasing all: a mark that can never be aimed at or hit.

Know from the bounteous heavens all riches flow; and what man gives, the gods by man bestow.

So our Lord God commonly gives riches to those gross asses to whom He vouchsafes nothing else.

Those that say they despise riches are saints or liars.

Many speak the truth when they say that they despise riches, but they mean the riches possessed by other men.

Riches are chiefly good because they give us time.

There are people who have money and people who are rich.

He who multiplies riches, multiplies cares.

In a rich man’s house there is no place to spit but his face.

Rich isn’t an amount of money, it’s a mindset about how you live. If you believe you can win, you can.

Any man can become rich who is base enough to keep a brothel, a gin palace, or a gambling house.
