So people have been link building since the boom of Internet marketing and we have gone through a couple of changes in the Google algorithm that we no longer know what's what. Is your technique still applicable in 2013? Do you think you are still doing the right thing?
Here is a list of foolproof link building strategies that will work for the year. It is the middle of the year but rest assured that it is not too late to apply these techniques for your campaigns.
#1 Content
We are not talking about content just for the sake of content here. We are talking about real content. The good kind of content. The kind of content that you will really give credit to the person who created it. Anything of interest - infographics, funny pictures, videos and even link-bait articles will make good links this year.
You just have to be sure that the content actually solves a problem and promotes a solution. Or it can be something that will be of value to your readers.
#2 Promote, promote and promote some more
If you have excellent content, you can just do the bum method and let it be indexed and see traffic flow from Google. This year around, you should look into the idea of using some communities to gain traffic. After all, it is only after other people have seen your content that they can link to it. Use Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, Pinterest, and Twitter to promote your content and watch as your traffic grow by the minute. This method makes it easier for you to promote more with less effort possible (with incredible returns!).
#3 Real PR
We aren't talking about page rank here but real PR. Think of something that will get other people to talk about you (and in the process, create links). Do community activities, charitable acts, or other things that will do good to get noticed. Real-life stuff makes your readers and visitors trust you and in turn produce amazing links.
PS: Don't ever do things just for the sake of popularity. A couple of Disney movies has shown us that this will not end good for any of us.
#4: Guest posting
Don't just focus on writing for your own blog or site. Take your expertise and market them to other sites with influence. This is elementary but people rarely see the potential of guest posting. This will bring new visitors in your site and will fortify your personal brand.
#5: Use the press
If you want to harvest authoritative links then you better start getting connected with the press. It will entail a lot of work to go and look for good stories that will interest popular bloggers and journalists but it will be worth its weight in gold once the links come in.
These are just some of the things you have to consider to do good back linking in 2013. Do you have other suggestions to add?
