Man's Search For Meaning
Book: Man's Search For Meaning
Writer: Viktor E. Frankl
Re-Capitulation: Aisha
I cannot write as a writer had written his book, but I'll try best of mine to express feelings and sentiments that I tasted during reading this painful book.
Viktor E. Frankl was psychiatrist in normal life. What he saw in the concentration camps(CC) and what he observed in CC being a psychiatrist doctor. He summed up in a book named 'Man's Search For Meaning'.
He had poured inconvenient moments in a book. He shared agony situations that he suffered in prison. He defined, how they converted hopeless life into hopeful.
Those who think their problems are the most nasty than any others. I surely would like to recommend this book for them also. This book fights for hope. Writer tells the observed experiences in concentration camps. These camps were not normal prisons; I can name them as doors to the hell.
Their new life starts from the high category of torture. When they entered in the camps, guards had killed all the weak people. Writer said, that was good for them to die than to feel scary lives every second to be healthy.
There was no name of mercy. Everyone was saying self-preservation, self-preservation; none was saying humanity, humanity. Their existence descended to the level of animals life. They were nothing but like a flock of sheep with no thoughts no feelings, just waiting for orders from SS(Officers).
It was challenging to stay alive only a second. Many of them committed suicide. Suicide was the first and last action for prisoners to act. There was no chance to think about freedom. Because area was covered by barbed-wire-fence with electricity.
Scene: When they entered into the prison, they were asked to take off their clothes. They had been ordered to erase hair from whole body. After erasing hair, no one was able to differ the bodies in the mirror. Then they were searching for asylum to hide their naked bodies. Afterwards Guards and officers had beaten all of them. Their screeches torn the sheets of blue and black skies.
Dr. Frankl met few riches personalities and also scientists. Few of them were appointed to clean latrines(Toilets). If one refused to clean them. Officers used to splash excrement on their faces.
Just imagine this situation! Whereas riches had never done anything by themselves. There he cleaned latrines!!
"Once despairing people asked Dr. Frankl, why would they live yet? Their lives had no dreams? They had nothing to lose now. Everything had been lost. Even they didn't know about their families in 3 years. Most of the families were burnt in the gas chambers. Within last seven days, before releasing from prison, many of the people committed suicide than in 3 years before. They impatiently shouted at doctor during questioning.
Then Doctor was himself fluctuated continuously between hope and despair. But he gave them a suitable response. He said 'it didn't really matter what they all expected from life, but rather what life expected from them.' He also said them that live for 'why' not for 'how'. "
NOTE: (How did they free from prison you need to read book!)
