If we talk about a cryptocurrency which based on peer to peer network before 2017, it was only bitcoin but in the month of August, 2017 the statement gets extended, now you also have bitcoin cash in cryptocurrency market, since than miners are free to choose BTC vs BCH measuring pros and cons like how difficult it is to mine currency or the price of coins.
Bitcoin is one of the most popular cryptocurrency based on distribution and public digital ledger which is known as "Blockchain", There are Nodes in Bitcoin network which stores blockchain, repeating the scenario will extended by generating new blocks and this process in known as "Mining".
As bitcoin has gained too much popularity, the transaction scalability issues has risen, and several solutions had been proposed to the problem and there were also some of the issues were there, that was the time when the BCH invented as a result of all that problems back in August, 2017, The key idea was to extend the productivity of the blocks, Now a miner is free to choose between BTC and BCH to make a good profit.
One thing that i forget to mention is that, He is the man whose name is Roger Ver who actually invented or you could say started Bitcoin Cash and as well as many other bitcoin related businesses. BCH mining would be conducted by the miners only although BCH mining difficulty is low compared to BTC mining difficulty that's why miners commonly does BCH mining rather than BTC mining and this miner's behavior known as "Fickle Mining"
There is a interesting thing about "Fickle-Mining" which i really want to share is that Fickle miners may change the coin to mine at a specific time period whenever the coin mining difficulty changes than fickle mining leads to instability of mining power which may eventually cause unstable prices.
