Now i am going to tell about Environment Oh Wonder gas

What is this Wonder Gas? Does the name sound too unfamiliar? In fact it is nothing more .. our very familiar CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) .... the gas that is responsible for the "weight hole". We are all familiar with the term "weight hole" today.

Another role of this CFC is ... CFC is a big villain in terms of 'warming'. Today it is proven that CFC is much more powerful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide gas in global warming. (Note the graph in the figure).

About forty years ago today, in 1980, meteorologists predicted that the temperature of the planet would continue to rise in the coming days, but that it would be two to three times higher in the Arctic than in any other part of the world.

Forty years later, in 2020, this prophecy has come true. Through various news outlets we have seen ... an unusual rise in temperature in the Arctic this summer ... the melting of a record amount of ice (floating ice in the Arctic Sea) and the consequent impact on the natural balance of the region.

Igalwit, a city in the Arctic region of Canada, where the average year-round temperature is 1degC, has risen so much this summer that cracks in water pipes and drainage pipes have disrupted life in various parts of the city.

Now the question is what caused this abnormal temperature rise. And the fact that this increase in temperature in the polar region will not be limited to the polar region .. The effect that it will have on the whole world is easily predictable.

We know that there is a layer of weight in the stratosphere at the surface of the atmosphere

The layer protects the earth's surface from the sun's dangerous ultraviolet rays. And I also know that for the sake of living a luxurious modern life, a huge amount of CFCs, halons and some other related chemicals mixed in the air are silently eroding our protective weight levels. And this lost weight level is called weight hole in the language of science.

Weight holes but no holes or cavities in that sense. This is the part of the weight layer where the weight density is relatively low. These weight holes are mainly formed in Antarctica, the South Pole, in September-November each year. And this weight hole covers an area of 20-25 million square kilometers (three times the size of Greenland). The same weight hole is created in the North Pole region .... but it is much smaller in size. This is because we know that temperatures in the North Pole are relatively higher than in the South Pole. The last significant sizable weight hole in the North Pole was created in 2011.

So what we mean by dangerous weight holes is the weight holes created over Antarctica. Let me tell you very briefly how CFC makes weight holes. Why or why the weight hole is made above the poles.

CFC is an ideal gas .. so this gas floats everywhere with the wind ... reaches the polar region freely. In winter

When the temperature in the polar regions, especially in the South Pole, drops to about -80 deg C, the molecules of CFC gas are absorbed on the water particles of the frozen clouds there. Then with the increase in temperature in the spring gathering, the ice particles

Melts and then the absorbed CFC molecules are released. This group of free CFC molecules is then dissociated by absorbing UV rays from the bright sunlight of spring and producing highly active multiple chlorine atoms. And these highly active chlorine atoms (nascent chlorine) begin to break down the accumulated weight of the weight layer very quickly with the help of a self-sustaining chain reaction. In this method only one CFC gas molecule has a maximum weight of one lakh molecules

Who can destroy.

Let's come to the "Montreal Agreement" in a nutshell. The famous Montreal Protocol was signed in September 1987. The international agreement regulates the production, import and arbitrary use of chemicals that create all kinds of 'weight holes', such as CFCs and halons. Signing and enthusiastic participation of 197 countries in this agreement ... has brought an unprecedented success in tackling the weight hole.

It is undeniable that the Montreal Accords have significantly reduced emissions of CFCs, halons and other weight-bearing gases into the world's climate.

However, the possibility that "the presence of CFC in the air causes an increase in temperature" was ignored by scientists at the time.

Currently the amount of CFC in the air is actually many times less than the amount of carbon dioxide. But as it turns out ... the heat capacity of a CFC molecule is about 11,000 times greater than that of a carbon dioxide molecule.

Another important point is that the molecules of CFC compounds are able to float in the air for 45-100 years. So even though the amount of CFC emissions in the air today is close to zero, the 'weight holes' created by the floating CFC molecules of the past will take many more years to repair, just as the floating greenhouse gas

As the CFC's effects continue to be tackled for decades to come.

However, it seems that nature takes the responsibility of maintaining nature in its own hands. In this context, I would like to mention a report published on May 1, 2020.

An unprecedented ozone depletion in the Northern Hemisphere (Arctic) has healed, but unlikely due to the impacts of the world wide Corona virus lockdowns, scientists say. A "record level" ozone hole over the arctic ... the biggest since 2011 .. has now closed-- the UN World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The reason for this self-repairing of such a huge weight hole is still in the research stage of meteorologists.

Thanks for reading.. I hope you enjoy it.
