Historical writing is of great importance to us. Not only for the individual, but also for the race / group and the nation. All we have now has to do with history. If history had not been written or given priority, what would it have been like right now? Historical writing is a record of the past, so that we can understand the present and the future. As Jose Rizal said, "In order to know the destiny of the people, it is important to open the book of his past."Since history provides information to understand problems over the years, we can easily or simply solve the problem in the present or future. History gives us a chance to learn from previous mistakes, and history also gives us better decision-makers. That history can lead the person, the group / race and the country to success in the future.

History Shaped the Future.

Historical writing is based on facts by gathering information about the significant events that happened to the past. As we all know, our history is the reason why we are who we are right now and why we are in the very place we are in. Simply because history shaped the future.

It is also equally important for our groups and races, to recognize their contributions to our history. Be it about politics, art, literature, music, and many more. It is also one of our responsibilities to protect our native people or katutubo because the population of their thrive is swiftly declining. They are an important part of our history and they deserved to live in our country as much as we do, especially without fear.

Lastly, historical writing is important in our country. That's how we learned the sacrifices that our heroes made when they fought for our freedom against the invaders. It served as our window to the past, how our country used to be in the hands of our colonizers. How they treated us unfairly and looked down on us. How we will use that same courage that our heroes had to fight against the injustice happening in the present because it is our duty to fight for what is right.

How history promote one's own identity?

History gives us identity. Knowing our own history, or the history of our culture is like knowing the root of a tree or how we were born. We have questions and we are curious where we came from or what our history is and why it has become our identity today. History has shown or enlightened us in every aspect of life. Which is where our ancestors were one of the ones who gave why we have identities now started with their respective beliefs and cultures that are continuously developed. Knowing our history and culture helps us to understand our history, which in turn helps us to understand our present. Our culture, our values and traditions, our language are the roots on which we form our identity.
