Rabindranath is a special name for Bangladesh and Bengalis. Rabindranath Tagore has been present in Bengali literature, language and culture with almost equal glory from his time to the present time. His all-encompassing talent, the depth of knowledge has earned him a special status. He came for a while but has been forever. Even though he is an Indian, he has won a seat in the world court because of his dignity and merit. He is in the hearts of all people with the title of 'World Poet'.
*Born:
Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 181 (25 Baishakh, 128) in the aristocratic Tagore family of Jorasanko, Calcutta. His father's name was Maharshi Debendranath Tagore and his mother was Sarada Devi. He is the fourteenth and eighth son of the parents' 15 children.
*Childhood, adolescence and education:
Child Rabindranath grew up in a very simple and simple way. When he was a little older, he was first admitted to the Oriental Seminary in Calcutta, after a while he went to the Normal School, then to the Bengal Academy, St. Xavier's School, but nowhere did he settle down. In the routine of Thakurbari, he was breathless. Despite the relentless efforts of his parents, he could not cross the school boundary. He decided to go to Billet with his brother Satyendranath Tagore and become a barrister. He went to London and was admitted to a public school and later to a university. But since he did not have a mind to study, he spent most of his time studying literature. After a year and a half, at the age of 19, he returned to the country, leaving his education incomplete under his father's direction. This is where his formal education came to an end.
*Literary work and literary thought:
He started writing at the age of eight. At the age of 13, the poem was published in the bilingual magazine 'Amritbazar' (184) under the title 'Gift of Hindu Mela'. There is no field of Bengali literature where he does not have a comfortable walk. He has written poems, songs, plays, novels, essays, short stories, etc. endlessly. But he is basically a poet and his reputation as a poet is high, the poet's mind is obsessed with new creations.
*Notable poems written by him:
Mansi, Sonar Tari, Chaitali, Gitanjali, Balaka, Punscha etc. Novel-eye sand, indoors-out, communication, quadrangle, etc .; Drama- Abandonment, Raktakarbi etc .; He has also written a number of short stories, short stories, and various literary works. The death of his loved one has helped him to overcome the distances required to experience the natural beauty of life and the world.
They had extensive zamindari in East Bengal and North Bengal of present day Bangladesh. Rabindranath came to Bangladesh with the charge of this zamindari and the thrilling experience he had of visiting the villages and rivers of Bengal greatly influenced his later literature. Evidence of which can be found in 'Vanu Singh's Letters' - 'I think I have received the message from this river for so long in my life that I will never forget it in my next birth.' He has published a collection of poems written at different times. He was also involved in editing various magazines. Such as- Hitavadi, Sadhana, Bichitra etc. From its inception he was associated with the 'Bangiya Sahitya Parishad'. It can be said that he wrote the first successful short story in Bengali language. In his prose, he has combined East and West.
*Marriage and conjugal life:
Rabindranath was married on 9 December 183. Before marriage, his wife's name was 'Bhavatarini'. Later, her father-in-law's name was changed to 'Mrinalini Devi'. He lived with his family in Shilaidaha for a long time. Later on his way to Calcutta, his wife Mrinalini Devi fell ill and died shortly after. Rabindranath had three daughters and two sons.
*Awards and honors:
In addition to his multifaceted work, he has won numerous awards and honors. Calcutta University awarded him the D. in 1913. Lit gives the title. In 1938, Dhaka University also conferred this title on him. In 1913, he became the first person in Asia to win the Nobel Prize. The University of Oxford awarded him a doctorate in 1940.
Rabindranath has gained prestige and success in his long eighty years of life as he has written literature. Rabindranath Tagore is truly talented. He did not stop writing poetry even at the end of his life. Rabindranath Tagore died on 7 August 1941 (22 Shravan 1348). Great talent like Rabindranath is rare in the whole world. He is in a sense a great devotee, a great man. He was a poet of truth and beauty. He did not abandon humanity in the worship of beauty, he did not indulge in lies.
