Singer Yemi has been named Goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme. With this new role, the musician is expected to lend her voice to the vulnerable members of the society and to work along with the agency’s mission which coincidentally aligns with hers.
She announced via her Instagram feed “It is an honour to be named UN goodwill ambassador to the UNDP programme, an agency whose core mission completely aligns with mine, to end poverty and to erase all forms of gender inequality.”
Alade says she will focus on giving innovative solutions to problems of the society and majoring on the people, including women who have been affected by the social-economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
