BE KIND TO ANIMALS. " VETERINARY DOCTORS SAVED A DYING TORTOISE"
A 75yrs old tortoise undergoes successful surgery in the Sokoto state of Nigeria. It was on Tuesday morning when the animal that has lived for 75 years was treated by some sets of veterinary Doctors in Sokoto state.
The 75-year-old tortoise underwent shell reconstruction surgery which lasted for several hours.
The tortoise was injured by a vehicle, the vehicle ran over the tortoise and caused some damages and scar to the shell.
The incident happened in Argungu, Kebbi State Nigeria.
The veterinary doctors were from the Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto (UDUS), Department of Surgery and Radiology, Faculty Of Veterinary Medicine, The operations took the doctors several hours because it requires a lot of technique and skills.
It was a successful operation at the end as the veterinary doctors were able to fix the broken shell making use of Circlage wire and screws to finish up the casing.
