Apart from playing in cryptocurrencies, Popescu is also an active blogger on the Trilema site who often makes arguments in defense of Bitcoion
"Bitcoin is destiny. This currency can be controlled by humans anywhere," Popescu wrote in a blog post.s Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) said in a statement.

The former editor-in-chief of CoinDesk, Pete Rizzo, also said that Popescu is someone who does not hesitate to criticize other Bitcoin investors.

Through his Twitter account, Rizzo also sent his condolences for the departure of Mircea Popescu.
