Humans smile for several reasons.
And it turns out, humans smile not only because their feelings are really positive such as happy, fascinated, flattered and others.
A smile can also come out of negative feelings such as being offended, embarrassed, belittled or otherwise belittling and so on.
Because a smile is not automatically synonymous with joy, there are even a number of puzzles behind the expression of a smile, so the smile has been the subject of hundreds of studies.
One of the many studies on the smile that was conducted by five experts from the University of Minnesota, USA.
The researchers came from across fields.
There are from the Department of Psychology, the Department of Engineering and Computer Science, the Department of Statistics and the Department of ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) Surgery Specialist Medicine.
The results of their research were then published under the title Dynamic Properties of Successful Smiles in June 2017.
In essence, the research reveals what traits of a smile are effective and successful in influencing the perception of others.
