Splinterlands | Chaos Packs

One of the most awaited moments in the recent past was the release of the Chaos packs and, with it, the chance for most newbies to spruce up their collection. For those who don't remember, there was a gap between the Untamed packs running out and the Chaos packs' release. Therefore, there were these crazy levels of expectancy.

And that also brought with it the fear of being unable to buy the packs if they sold out in hours. Despite the 15 million packs assurance, people were not sure if they would be able to get their hands on the packs. This is where innovative propositions like XChaos came in. From a different team than the Splinterlands ones, the offer of the XChaos team was simple.

What was it? Before we find out, how about finding out what Splinterlands is all about? So, let's go.

What Game is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn from the cards. *The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning.* It is one of the most generous games I have seen where cards, potions, and Dark Energy Crystals (DEC. Cryptocurrency) are given out daily to thousands of players for just playing and winning daily quests. And there are tournaments that you can play or guilds you can join.

XCHAOS | The Proposition

Continuing from where I left, the XChaos team proposed that everyone who buys the XChaos tokens will receive Chaos packs to that proportion. In other words, if I bought 10 XChaos tokens, the XChaos team would send me 10 Chaos packs whenever it was released. Needless to say, the XChaos team was also giving an unstated assurance that you will get your pack if you invest in XChaos. How they would do it was something they would figure out. They also came out later and said that they would refund the investors' monies if they failed to procure the packs.

And as you would have guessed, some went ahead while some stayed skeptical of the XChaos proposition. After all, why put my money here and be left disappointed if I can save the money and wait for the real deal – the Chaos packs. And I was one of those skeptics. As such, I bought only two XChaos tokens. ☹

To cut a long story short, the XChaos team procured the packs and sent them to the token buyers. With that, they proved their credibility, sadly a little too late for me.

XCHAOS | The New Proposition

As the Chaos packs were released and everybody got their fair share, the need for the XChaos tokens was not felt anymore. After all, the team sent all buyers their Chaos packs, so what is the need to hold the XChaos tokens. So, there was this mad rush to sell the tokens, which saw the price plummet. But here is where the team came up with the new proposition.

They promised DEC for all hodlers of the XChaos tokens. The fun part was that the DEC would be given out every single day basis the computation of the APR. I have no clue how that works out, but like before, the team followed up with their promise. I started receiving DECs every day, and that's when I realized that I should pump up the hodlings of XChaos. Since the launch of the Chaos packs, I have received DECs proportional to my XChaos hodlings every day. I mean, why not? Just for hodling a token, you receive another token which is one of the important Splinterlands tokens – there is hardly anything to decide.
