Splinterlands | One of My Favorite Earth Splinter Combo | Tutorial And Tips
Splinterlands
Splinterlands allows players a range of gameplay and strategy. The availability of six splinters makes the game quite elaborate and fun. Earth, Fire, Death, Life, Dragon, and Water are the six splinters. I love the cards in my Dragon Splinter collection but Earth Splinter is the one I love to play much.
So, let’s look at Earth Splinter, which is one of my favorite combinations of cards that has won me a lot of battles. This is specifically a Silver or lower Gold level strategy. It’s best to look at the battle.
But before that, shall we spend a minute getting to know Splinterlands? After all, that’s where you will find all these fun battles, rules, and monsters.
What Game is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn from the cards. *The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning.* By now, you would know that the governance token (SPS) airdrop made millionaires out of the early adopters. It still keeps giving and remains a fun and engaging game.
To give you an idea of how lucky you can get in Splinterlands, read my story of getting cards worth $500 from buying only a few packs worth $20.
Got Cards Worth $500 from $20 Packs
And this is just a tiny number. I have witnessed people getting uber-expensive cards in their pack and selling them for as high as $6500. In fact, there is a whole Splinterlands marketplace on the Hive blockchain and now on Wax too. And now the sales of the Rebellion packs, the newest of the lot, have also started.

Some Suggestions | Deck Creation
Numerous cards are available in the market. What do you do? Which one do you choose?
Here are some tips:
1. Align card buying with your gameplay, plans, and logic.
2. There are enough and more cards that look good, strong attacks and health, but they are of no use, if they don’t align with your game plans.
3. Try to build one attack style (or game plan) across Splinters. You can expand later to other styles.
4. Don’t limit deck building to just one or two Splinters you like. Ranked battles, brawls, or tournaments could call a Splinter you don’t have.
5. Don’t go all out to buy all cards in all splinters. Instead, choose your attack style and try building decks around that in all Splinters. For example, you may like Magic attacks, so build magic attack cards, magic-enhancing summoners, etc. in all splinters. After that, you can choose to spread out.
6. Most of all, have fun!
Now, let’s go on to the battle with my favorite formation.
The Battle | Frowns and Angry Brows
We will look at the rules and then proceed to the battle.
This one is a high mana battle and only four splinters are allowed – Fire, Life, Dragon, and thankfully Earth. There are specific rules in play over here. This battle won’t allow Legendary cards, the enrage rule is on, and lastly, the magic and ranged attackers have the snipe ability.
All these put together would mean, I will have to plan the second position smartly. Because that is the one that will be hit the most. Now, we proceed to the battlefield.
The Face-Off Screen
And here is the lineup.
My team is at the bottom of the screen while the opponent is at the top. Let me give you an idea of the cards that I have chosen and why.
The first position card is Quora Towershead. Why Quora? Because it is one of the craziest cards with dual attack, bloodlust, and self-heal ability. The card on its own is close to indestructible, but during a high mana battle, it does need some help.
The second position card is one with martyr-ability. Why this card? Remember, one of the rules is that magic and ranged monsters will attack the second position due to the snipe ability. So, this card will take all the attacks, perish, and power up Quora.
The third position card is a magic card with tank-healing ability. Why is it required? Although the tank is a self-heal monster, it may still take a lot of strikes and therefore may require a second level of healing. This card provides that healing.
The card in the fourth position is the Mushroom Seer which debuffs the opponent’s magic ability by one. This would be helpful so that magic monsters from the opponent’s teams cannot affect our tank too much.
The card in the fifth position is a card with sneak ability. This card will continue to hit the opponent’s lineup from the last position.
The card in the sixth position is a ranged attack card with a high attack value. This would be useful in case of opponent’s monsters have void-ability.
So, all-in-all, every aspect of the game is taken care of. Now for the battle.
We Battle Hard
It indeed was one big battle.
But by the beginning of round 2, the opponent had lost two monsters including their Quora. That was a big blow. In my case, it looked like I had chosen my monsters very well. I had lost none but the cards at the back were at the risk of losing out.
And The Battle Races to Conclusion
It was quite an entertaining battle.
Before the end of round 3, the battle was over. I lost only the monster in the second position, which was good, as it powered up Quora and the monster in the third position. The only loss was the card in the last position.
However, you’ve got to see that the combination of my cards was good for the battle. This is what works for me usually in the Earth Splinter.
A Hard-Fought Battle | An Interesting Result
So, if we plan our card and strategy for a battle, more often than not, we will end up on the winning side. That’s what all this game is about. Try out different things see what works and continue to make it work. What does not, learn from it, change it and win. 😊
I loved the battle. How about you? I hope you enjoyed reading about the battle too. You can also look at it live in the links provided below. Have fun! 😊
