The Kaduna State Government has warned that some of the leftovers from the Narayi Restaurant in Chikun Local Government Area are contaminated, banned and those whose consumption may be dangerous.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Safety and Home Affairs, Samuel Arwan, said the Nigerian Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) said it had informed the government of the dangers posed by these food items.
The Kaduna State government has warned that food is like poison because it can cause illness to anyone who eats it or kills it.
She also added that a food supply company, whose products have been discarded, revealed that its stolen grains mixed with some chemicals used to store food that could harm humans.
The statement called on the people of the state to be vigilant about the food and medicine they are going to buy and the source where they are sourced to avoid falling into this trap.
The state government has also asked people to provide information on who stole the goods and where they hid them.
On Saturday, some residents of Kaduna State raided government food warehouses in search of corona relief supplies.
They stole food and grain and chairs and many other electrical appliances.
This led to the imposition of curfew in Chikun and Kaduna South Local Government Areas, which was later reinstated throughout the state to maintain law and order.
