Nearly 1.5 million children in the Chinese city of Wuhan returned to school on Tuesday as authorities reopened all schools in the city affected by the cholera epidemic in December 2019.
Wuhan has about 80 percent of the death toll in China caused by the disease and the city has been closed for 11 weeks.
Despite the announcement of the opening of the schools, it is not necessary for students to impose sanctions while taking classes at the school.
A BBC correspondent says the government says there are plans to return to online education if the disease returns to the city.
