How the price of flour has changed the price of bread in Nigeria
Bread
The rising cost of rice in the wake of the recent rise in rice prices has raised concerns about rising food prices in Nigeria.
These days, the cost of bread and all the other ingredients included in the flour is again making money without knowing why.
The increase does not stop at flour, it affects flour, pasta and wheat.
A Kano resident, Ibrahim Sabo, told the BBC he was surprised when he went to buy bread and was told the price had changed.
How much flowers are there now?
This increase is not in the same place in almost all states and the Federal Capital Territory there has been a change in inflation compared to previous weeks.
Adamu Abdulkadari, manager of AMK Kore Bakery in Kano, told the BBC that in the past they used to buy 10,000 bags of flowers but now the price is 13,500.
Adamu said they did not have any details on the reason for the increase, but companies told them everything was an increase.
"They did not tell us the exact reason for the high price of flowers, but the big dealers said that the ingredients in the flowers were more expensive."
Unfortunately, after you buy expensive flour, sugar, powder, yeast and other bread ingredients all make money, says Adamu.
The manager said they had discussed collectively about the price but it seemed unlikely that there would be any change since the price forced the increase in the price of bread.
"In the past we used to subsidize or reduce the cost of bread but now we have stopped, and those who did not increase the amount have reduced the size of the bread.
Bread is almost every household food in Nigeria. Almost the fastest food available. The prosperity of the house of the rich and the poor.
There are many bakeries in the country that provide employment for many people.
Reports indicate that Nigeria is one of the least developed countries in the world.
However, the cost of flowers depends on the companies' goals.
It is alleged that foreign companies that process and announce flowers have almost played a role in the rising cost of flowers in the country.
Many Nigerians believe that if the authorities continue to focus on expensive food, the future will be bleak for many.
