Hi guys, I brought to you again one of the most hype Nigeria soup called Ogbonna soup. Ogbona seed is normally used to prepare this wonderful soup. Before we go to the kitchen let's talk alittle about this soup to know how special it is.

Ogbonna soup is one of the most cherished soup in Igbo Land. Igbo Land is one of the tribes in Nigeria. Ogbono seed is a genus of African and Southeast Asian trees in the family Irvingiaceae, sometimes known by the common names wild mango, African mango, bush mango, dika . They bear edible mango-like fruits, and are especially valued for their fat- and protein-rich nuts.

ogbono soup powder is a good source of Vitamin B2 and Vitamin C. The increase in Vitamin B2 content of all the samples may be due to addition of fluted pumpkin (Ugwu) leaf which is believed to be rich in vitamins.

Enough of talking dudes........I talk too much...... please let's go to the kitchen and show us the tricks.

Ingredients needed

Ogbona seed

Okra seed

Salt

Maggi

Palmoil

vegetable ( Ugwu)

Crayfish

Dried fish

Assorted meat

Pepper

Onions

Let's go to the kitchen....

The first thing to do is to grind our Ogbona seed (Bush mango) without adding water and pour in a separate bowl and mixed well with three spoonful of palmoil until it becomes floppy.

Sliced our okra seed into smaller shape and pour in a separate bowl

Grind our pepper with crayfish and onion together, pour a separate bowl

Cut your pumpkin leaves (Ugu) and pour in a separate bowl.

Boil your assorted meat with seasoning

Secondly, the cooking starts...........

Place your cooking pot on fire, pour your grinded pepper ,add two cups of water and add one spoonful of palmoil so as to prevent you from sneezing, then cover it to boil.

After 3minutes, add salt and seasoning cubes to taste, then pour your cooked assorted meat, dried fish, meat stock and cover for another 3minutes.

Thirdly, pour your grinded ogbona seed and give it a good stirring then add your well diced okra seed and stir. Then ganish your soup with you pumpkin leaves and stir. Then leave it for few minutes.....

And yepppppppppppy........ your soup is ready.

It can be eaten with fufu, yam flour, or with Pounded Yam.

In other countries the soup may be available in packaged prepared form in some markets that specialize in Western African foods.

So how is my cooking today??? Give me a thumbs up in the comments section. Like, comments and subscribe.
