The question that popped into my head when I heard about baptism was what is baptism by water? What is baptism by the holyghost?

Many people see baptism as a ceremony or a Christian sacrament in which one is submerged in water and given a name. But baptism is beyond this. They can't vividly say if they've been baptised with the holyghost or not since they don't have thorough study about it.

In the book of Mark, the Bible says John baptised with water but He that comes after him which is Jesus baptised with the holyghost.

The question is why did John baptised with water? John baptised with water is to revealed Christ to the Israelites. He did that to make people of Israel repent.

What is baptism of the Holyghost? It means to receive the holy Spirit or to be identified with the holyghost and this holy Spirit is Christ himself.1peter 1:10, 2peter 1:20-21

Ephesians 1:13 says KJV:In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

This means once you believe you are sealed with the holy Spirit of promise, the holy Spirit dwells in you as a proof of our salvation, as a mark of redemption that we have which is eternal and forever. Ephesians 4:30 saysKJV:And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Therefore baptism is how God sees us. The holy Spirit approved us as a child of God, Romans 8 :15-16, Galatians 4:6.
