I never thought I'd say this, but lizard poo saved the day today. I happened to go upstairs to refill Vrtra's salad just in time to clean up the mess. I've started using puppy training pads as substrate for him, which work fabulously, but it's still smelly enough that everything gets put into its own little grocery bag and immediately taken out to the dumpster. (This is a Vrtra probably has digestive health issues thing, not a beardie thing in general.) When I was walking to the dumpster, I saw that one of my tires was flat. I don't think I would have taken anything else out before I had to leave to get the kids from school, but noticing it when I did gave me plenty of time to put my spare on and drop the flat off at the tire place. Unfortunately the screw was in a place on the shoulder where it couldn't be patched. We'd purchased the replacement certificate with the tire so the new tire was free. I just paid ~$23 for a new certificate to go with the replacement. Vrtra is totally getting a nice chunk of freeze dried banana as a treat for his part in the excitement. 😄
