Stay safe You like my hat? https://read.cash/@wakeupkitty/you-like-my-hat-6cf4cd24 As has become their routine, they seated their morose and silent selves on logs and stumps by the campfire. It had become clear to them there was no way back. The stupid bitch was captured and would talk for sure and the emu didn't seem to impress the owner of the house. He had left it outside in exactly the same way. They know because they had watched the house. At nights the light was turned…

Money as a gift? *Today's my youngest birthday. Officially it would not receive any present because it already had it in July. Why? A phone was needed since from September on it would visit a school in the capital city. This means a lot of traveling, many hours from home and as a parent who needs to pick up the child from a bus stop to drive it home for the last 10 kilometers, it's good to know when it got into the last bus (a journey of at least one hour) or if it is in…

How to pay for your travel with bitcoincash? *I love to travel but I can't at the moment. And no, it is not in the first place because of the pandemic of 2020. Since they (some scientists) say planning is as much, if not more, fun as the travel itself I decided to plan a trip. Where should I travel to? I am not sure. It can be everywhere, I could travel worldwide and... I will try to pay with Bitcoincash for a change. Let's search the internet (in my own language of course)…

Many trains I didn't see the new girl as I woke up. I had to do what I always do before I go to school. Making the beds, iron the sheets, wiping dust with a wet cloth, and lifting all small furniture on the bed. After that, I set the table and polished all shoes. My mother came for breakfast but my dad and the girl did not. My dad only joins us on Saturday and Sunday morning. I don't know where he is. Somewhere in the city. Perhaps he travels with his scooter to the train…

Homesick? She doesn't talk to me, the new girl I mean. Perhaps she doesn't like me? She cannot cook and never learned to make tea. It doesn't matter because I know how to do it. I think my mother doesn't like her. She says nothing but the way she looks. In the afternoon I see her writing in a notebook. It's not a diary but a book for the new girl. I hope she can read. If she cleans she need to read how it has to be done. My mother wrote numbers in front of the steps she…

Quantity over quality? Fifteen hours, at times twenty, a day I spend on reading and writing. Some say to me quantity isn't important but quality is? While most people waste hours of the day in front of the television set I read, I read and I write. If I am at work I write. My head is always busy, busy with writing a new story out of the information I received. Information that comes from thoughts, observations, life experiences, books, and magazines I read about topics of my…

A good day It is Wednesday. In the afternoon Wilma's her party is celebrated. I hope my mother won't forget it and takes me over there or perhaps I can walk? I walked to kindergarten too. I was younger at that time. I can still walk if I take the card with the address with me. If I get lost I ask. I know I easily get lost if I need to walk back home but I don't need to. It's written on the card: after dinner, we take you home. The party starts at 2 p.m. Wilma looks happy and…

Riquet with the tuft No one knew actually what to say to the Queen. She gave birth on the first Tuesday in June. Sunlight showered the crib of the newborn with the twisted hip. It wasn't the only thing the child suffered from as anyone could see who visited the dome of the royal family. It was there where a broken king sat at his throne, and a young mother could only cry asking herself "what went wrong, why, oh why me, oh, why did this happen to my baby?" While her baby was…

Pigeon with grapes It is a famous recipe. I could prepare it. The pigeons choose my residence for their home. They are all over the place. The Bible warns us not to eat certain animals. The main reason for it is at that time they already knew animals can make you sick even if they are dead. The pig is one of them but so is the cow (cow madness), the blood of animals, and having pigeon around, and as we all know humans are the most dangerous of all. It is safer to eat French…

(In)tolerant? The word "tolerance" contains way more than what it is generally used for in the media. Search in your dictionary or on the internet and at least 25 different definitions show up. What exactly does tolerance mean? What does this frequently used word stands for? Tolerance is an ability. The ability to endure. It is a capacity to endure pain for example or hardship, something you are not used to. It is what others expect from you, all of them (the society),…

Disappointment *I am disappointed, feel disappointed. Good enough to write about. Just to ventilate, nothing more.* Disappointment is a feeling that eats you, kills you softly. At times slow, at different times fast. No, it's not the first time I deal with it. I asked myself what exactly caused it. It is easy to blame one certain occasion or event for it, a change of habit, a person if you like but that's rarely the case. Once we (allow ourselves to) suffer there is more we…

To be honest I believe it's fine with this platform as well. The topics are gone, articles aren't upvoted more than the trash @Read.Cash and @TheRandomRewarder both claim to fight, once tried to fight. To me it feels as if this platform will be abandoned soon. 38 people died! Should I be shocked if 38 out of 19 million did? Daily people die and for sure way more than only 38. No, I am not shocked, not even impressed. To be honest, I do not even understand why the media, some "journalist" makes such a fuss out of it. The only reason I can think of is spreading fear. Is it still possible to spread fear by mentioning the number of people who died because of the pandemic, the coronavirus? **This is fake news!** Those 38 died but **not…

Chocolate butter As a child, I loved chocolate butter. It was sold in a package. Delicious on bread or just so. It can be used to bake a cake with as well although I know no one whoever did. At a certain point, it was no longer sold. By now it is back but no longer as a package and I am not sure if the recipe remained the same. Most likely not but you can never be sure because chemicals and bad ingredients in food already started before the second world war. Margarine is a…

Reading comprehension *I need a new home. A place for people like me. A home where the writer, introvert is accepted, where creativity is liked, or where at least creative people can talk, share, have room to express themselves. It's strange how hard it is to find such a place.* Creativity seems to be something dirty in real life instead of special, a skill we all need and most of us have and use to survive. I wonder... How come writing isn't accepted as art? Many schools…

Begging I consider myself a lucky parent. My children never made my life hard if it comes to begging for toys, food, ice-creams, new, expensive clothes, or shoes, or whatever. I notice if money is wasted in most cases it's wasted by me. I am the one who always asks if they don't like an ice-cream, like trousers or shoes, the book or shouldn't... I am that person who should be punished for buying without a reason and forcing it upon my children even if they don't need it, are…

NaNoWriMo **Will you join?** *I did once after I joined MarchMadness on Steemit. MarchMadness isn't that much different from NaNoWriMo except it was in March and those who joined wrote a novel with given prompts. This means you write daily, thirty days at one piece, without a break. It is possible to ask for help if you join and…

Health issues with a C This week it is all about: **Colon** Intestines, infections, not able to digest, eat drink, and pain. I felt like I felt for years as a little child. This time there will be no hospital, no doctor, no first aid. I stay home and search for the few options left. I know there's something seriously wrong and I try to do as much (read as minimal) as possible. It is what is best for me and what is best for me is best for my children as well. I already hardly…

Writing an essay Can I be a writer? I don't think so. What I write is boring. I have no stories to share. No one is interested in my life. Not even my parents. I tested it out enough. It doesn't matter what I draw or write they never have a closer look. I think the teacher doesn't like to read the essays children in her class write. She always tells us what to write about, how many lines and after that, she hands over the paper and waits till the time is up. I wrote my name…

If you help We had reading at school again in the afternoon. I like it. I do not know the children in my reading group and many mothers are present to assist. I like to walk through the school. I still wish I had that teacher, the teacher that belongs to the school. I only visit that classroom on…

Rose There wasn't much creative time for me during the past days. I intended to pay the market a visit and the child's room. The child I make a surprise for this year. It dug around in a heap of electronic trash at the schoolyard and the first "drag it home" was an IBM computer and some hard disks and the next catch a small, white monitor and several cables and video cards. It didn't explode and it told him it even worked. The computer is German.…

They knew they had to. Once their task was finished they would write a report and in the meanwhile the appointment with a psychologist we're made for at…

Daily stress Today I feel stress since 5 a.m. this morning. I have many things planned because I feel a bit better. Better thanks to the meds I take but at the same time these meds make me hyperactive (can be a good thing) and give me sleepless nights. This morning I went back to bed at 4:30 a.m. just for 30 minutes or so after I already did some things. While driving back home at 6 a.m. I planned all those things I should, intended, to do. Things I want to didn't come to…

Gluten *It's what we find back in wheat and with that in everything made out of wheat or where wheat is added to.* Most likely nearly every food bought in a supermarket is prepared with wheat or has traces of wheat in it. Wheat is cheap and that's why it's used. Even in dog and cat food, we find it. Cheap filling for the stomach and intestines. Although most of us do not have a gluten intolerance much deal with intestines sensible to gluten. It is not strange since we stuff…

Check your prices My grandmother always checked prices, prices, and payments. No matter if it what she paid in the shop, the tip she gave to the bus driver or milkman, the grocery, electricity company, or her bank account and insurances. She checked everything and with that, she saved herself a lot of money! Because of her, I started doing it and it's true there are an awful lot of "mistakes" made if it comes to prices we need to pay or what we are charged for. It's like…

The inner voice *Self-esteem how come this is an issue at all? Why do we discuss about it, suffer from a lack of it and think we are not good enough, wise enough, old enough, educated enough, strong enough to...? If it comes to it don't we all have an inner power?* To me self-esteem is not an issue. I doubt it ever really was. Most likely not. As a child, teenager I already stood for my own opinion. An attitude not each teacher liked especially not from a girl. Sorry, but I…

Corn cookies (gluten free) In Surinam they are well-known and for sure more countries have their own recipe if it comes to corn cookies or food made out of cornflour. If your intestines do not tolerate a certain food you better stop consuming it. Once gluten is deleted from the menu it doesn't mean there's nothing left to eat. Actually, there's plenty of food, tasty food. There's no need to stick to the eating habits of our ancestors or to join the bad food habits of other…

Changing me *Would I change me, my life if I could? I mean me, my past? Is it possible at all to change, do things differently? Can I regret all those missed "chances", opportunities, feel sorry about what I never had?* We humans love to fool ourselves but if it comes to it it's not more than that. We fool ourselves and hope someone will believe what we say. We can not regret what we never had. This idea, the need to feel sorry, regret is all in our head. It's not more than…

Gaming with children Do you ever play a game with your child or I should ask: are you gaming with them? One of my children always loved playing games on the computer. Only a few years old she spent time playing and at the age of two years old she fought with me who was, in turn, using it, using it at the office. It was me of course and if some time was left it was her turn. One of the first games we played were dos games. Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein. Both have something in…

Daily life with a C **Cold** It's cold outside. Cold, grey, wet which means it is cold outside as well. Cold and slippery. The dirt road changed within 12 hours in a mud pool and if there's something we are not crazy about it is mud pools, slippery muddy roads, and sliding with the car off the road. NL pandemic strategy *There's a huge difference between how many people are infected with the coronavirus that can cause Covid-19 and those who are (seriously) ill. Out of those sick people, the main part will never see a doctor (sorry client I need to take care of my own health) and simply stay at home. Something we all should have done with each flu. Instead, we show up at work, school, go to church, the shop and cough, sneeze in other people's faces while we do not cover…

Oatmeal-cornflour pancakes (gluten-free) Usually, I bake pancakes with oatmeal flakes, wheat flour, a bit of salt, and water. Plan your day? *I still have that list with '21 comments'* @Morningstar *once wrote about. I never finished writing about these 21 but hey the note is still there which means there's plenty to write about.* Busy people plan, so do scheduled people and those who have set goals. Do I like to plan my day these days (note: these days is since the moment I gave up on my jobs of 60-80 hours working for an employer and stopped my own business). The answer is: no. I don't feel the…

Out of the box Today I had a rather good day although I felt tired. My legs and feet hurt but not as much as usually when I wake up. There's no need to complain about it because there's nothing anyone can do about it although I wish it was possible. As long as I remember my feet hurt and it makes hard to walk. I doubt the little mermaid felt as much pain as I do. At least she didn't need to join a hiking club and wear shoes that didn't fit or made her fall because they are…

Lost ear The flies did it. The stable flies managed to harm an ear of one of my wolfhounds (a wolf-dog breed) badly enough that it is ripped off. I wish it was different but it's not. Each year the amount of flies increases and by now it's hard to believe we were ever able to sit outside, even sunbath in our garden. Being here is no longer fun. Each one of my wolf's misses parts of their ears. It doesn't matter how much pesticides I use, neither does the brand, the little…

Cornflour, carbohydrates, conclusion **Cornflour** I wrote about it earlier same if it comes to corn. The more I read the wiser I get and believe me I learned a lot about corn during the past three weeks. Corn contains way more carbohydrates than wheat. Did you know that? It isn't easy to bake with it, corn only is good for crumbs. A mouth filled with crumbs and that's why the flour is frequently mixed with something else. Spelled flour for example or rice flour. Rice flour…

Crave for the best '*Craving for the best' is one of the comments (or tips if you like) @morningstar mentioned a few months ago in an article.* Crave for the best is, if you ask me, something each nation does and so did the Dutch one as their history started. Simple people, most of them *not* education at all but they worked hard, very hard, and hoped for a better life for themselves and their (great-grand) children. No matter how much you look down on them or like to punish…

So sad The Autumn vacation started. Shouldn't vacation mean you do something you like or do nothing for a change? I doubt my mother ever heard of the words 'nothing' and 'relaxing' or 'peace'. Peace of mind. She kept yelling at me no matter how hard I tried to help her. I had to fill the buckets with hot water and soap and bring them to her. I can not count how many. She pushed and hit me and one bucket fell over the carpet. She said I did it, blamed me. It wasn't me, I…

Plan B Making you happy https://read.cash/@wakeupkitty/making-you-happy-f3a5e825 In the red cave of his private darkroom, blood-warm fluids made his hands puffy and succulent. Everybody has a secret, something no one knows about. His was his love for what he called art, the art of life and death more precisely. The lamp outside was the sign no one was allowed to enter. It was more to make it complete not that there was a person on earth who ever could or would. Those he met…

In a good way Plan B https://read.cash/@wakeupkitty/plan-b-a76aefcb "Sorry to disturb you. I wouldn't if it wasn't important." "Be quick. I told you not to show your face till it's over." "What if I tell you it is? Fidelo already closed one case, no one will charge your ex-wife and there's more news....," he paused and hoped to catch the old chief's attention but the man looked disturbed by his presence during his early breakfast, "Fidelo intends to close the case today. He…

Obliged to... In a good way At times it was good, felt good to be obliged but he had pushed it too far. Pushed her too far and those kids, those poor kids. The bitterness had taken over after she had tried to please him in every way. How naive she had been. https://read.cash/@wakeupkitty/in-a-good-way-4c794e4a It was true it took her long to understand it wasn't because of her but hím their marriage didn't work out. She had pampered him, brought his lunch, gave a hand with…

Keeping the spirit high 'I feel tired, sad, etc.' I texted to my daughter. A few hours later she answered 'me too and I don't even have an excuse for it'. The Autumn vacation nearly ended and I can't say I did as much as I intended to do but I believe I planted 2 small roses (a test if they survive outside) and today I planted a tree and something I planted twice before and it all died. Perhaps it is the next waste of money just like all those fruit trees who died, the…

New trees Three-plant-day was what we had at school. Primary school. I have no idea who arranged those trees but all pupils of each school went out on the same day to plant a tree. I plant several trees in my life and still try to add a bit to mother nature. I never thought I would buy some trees again not even after my walnut died and fell. Why not? Because I noticed the tree plants themselves and that's why I decided to let a few grow where they plant themselves. Who knows…
