Already in Venezuela, we began to observe the arrival of the King of Fruits (The Mango), it is incredible how in a town, there is even 1 mango tree, for each house, this fruit is part of our culture, of our gastronomy, And the most curious thing is the large number of mangoes that there are, you would be surprised to see the difference, in smell, flavor and shape, there is even one that tastes like peach, and it is known as Mango-Durazno, and this is what you see in the photograph we take. The most curious thing about this, was how the Mango arrived from Eastern China, to America, the merchants of the seventeenth century did a great job when realizing the potential that such a rich fruit had. Mangoes are certainly yummy, but they aren't the King of Fruits. That title belongs to the durian. Eating a good durian is a transcendental experience! By the way, did you know that mangoes are in the same family as Poison Ivy, that stupid plant that causes painful, itchy rashes? The active irritant, urushiol, is supposedly found in the mango skin. So if you ever thought of eating a mango without peeling it, (why? the skin is super-duper bitter), you might want to reconsider.
