Rainbow village
In a remote part of Taichung, a large Taiwanese city, there is a small village where soldiers' families lived in the 1940s and 1950s. Over the years, many families have left the village, which soon began to decay and turn into a gray city district. But, thanks to one man, this former village has been turned into a real small tourist treat, known as Rainbow village, or the Village of the Rainbow Family.
At the age of 86, Huang Yung-fu, better known as Grandfather Rainbow, decided to paint houses, walls, and streets in colorful and cheerful rainbow colors. Every day, Grandpa Rainbow paints a new gray surface with his vivid colors and characters. Grandpa Rainbow is currently the only person living in it.
