One of the key things we should all learn from the US is efficiency. How the US can get outstanding results with very common things. Look at the Apollo lunar lander for example. In countries like India if someone sees this picture they'd think this is where homeless people live but the US astronomers made it to the moon and back with this thing made out of sticks, stones and gold foil. It is a story of efficiency that we should all learn from. There is also some propaganda mixed into it somewhere but I think it is mainly efficiency.

Efficiency? The USA space program was impressive for many reasons, but I don't think efficiency was one of them. Consider that Lunar Lander. It makes one flight, then it is done. So whatever it cost to design, build, and fly that thing was for one trip only. I believe the space shuttle was an attempt to have a more "reusable" rocket, but it wound up being ridiculously expensive and somewhat prone to failure.
