10 Success-Boosting Motivation Tips From Millionaire Entrepreneurs
Motivation is a daily struggle for entrepreneurs, so I’ve put together these motivation-boosting tips from 10 of today’s successful entrepreneurs.
1. Fear of failure.
In an article that he wrote for *Bloomberg*, Mark Cuban stated that he uses the fear of failure for self-motivation. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2013-04-11/how-to-motivate-yourself-by-mark-cuban
“No matter what business you’re in, you’re always at risk -- particularly in technology, where it changes so rapidly you’ve got to put in the effort to keep up,” writes the *Shark Tank* panel member. “There’s always the opportunity for some 18-year-old to come out of nowhere and crush you—that motivates the hell out of me.”
“Every one of my companies, whether something I started or something I invested in, is a scoreboard. How am I doing? A lot of investors or advisers play it as a numbers game.”
“If they invest in 20 companies, as long as one success covers 19 losses, they did OK. I look at every loss as a huge failure. I had an investment go bad recently. I lost $1.5 million on it. It pisses me off to no end." https://due.com/blog/get-fear-failure/
Failed at something? Ask these Mark Cuban questions.
"You can also use it as motivation. What did I do wrong? Who did I trust that I shouldn’t trust? What can I learn from this situation so I can avoid it next time?”

2. Do what you’re passionate for.
This is the key. However, as Chalmers Brown, co-founder and CTO of Due writes, “We want to not only make a lot of money but enjoy what we do as well. We are willing to take on the risk of unstable pay in exchange for following our dreams.” https://www.inc.com/chalmers-brown/how-to-turn-your-passion-into-your-everyday-dream-job.html
“Unfortunately, your dream job may not always be the best decision financially. Sometimes your hobbies are best kept as projects in your spare time for fun (which is great!). If you do want to try to turn your passion into a full-time job, these tips can help you get started the right way.”
Brown gives the tips below:
Improve something that you’re already doing.
Figuring out where market.
Sharing your passion with others.
Stay happy and motivated by assigning tasks that you’re not a fan of to someone else.

3. Keep affirmations where you can see them.
“It’s so easy as an entrepreneur to get sucked into feeling exhausted or frustrated, and often the blame is yours alone,” writes Murray Newlands, founder of online invoicing company Sighted. “But a negative mindset sucks up mental bandwidth and energy that you need to stay focused and successful. https://thefounder.co.ke/seven-ways-to-stay-motivated-as-an-entrepreneur-murray-newlands/ https://www.sighted.com/
"It is crucial to maintain an optimistic attitude in the face of setbacks. Whenever you see a quote or a picture that helps you stay positive, place it front and center so you can remember what this journey is all about.”

4. Leverage the power of rejection.
“On June 26, 2008, our friend Michael Seibel introduced us to seven prominent investors in Silicon Valley. We were attempting to raise $150,000 at a $1.5M valuation. That means for $150,000 you could have bought 10 percent of Airbnb."
"Below you will see five rejections. The other two did not reply,” writes Airbnb Co-Founder Brian Chesky on Medium. “The investors that rejected us were smart people, and I am sure we didn’t look very impressive at the time.” https://medium.com/@bchesky/7-rejections-7d894cbaa084
Today Airbnb is valued at just under $30 billion.

5. Surround yourself with highly successful and motivated people.
"No one does it alone," said Mark Zuckerberg during a Q&A in 2016. "When you look at most big things that get done in the world, they're not done by one person, so you're going to need to build a team." https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10103066366848051&id=4&_rdr
When building your All-Star team, seek out people who excel in the areas where you’re not strong or have less experience. "You're going to need people that have complementary skills," Zuckerberg emphasized. "No matter how talented you are, there are just going to be things that you don't bring to the table."

6. Never feel sorry yourself.
“All of my best successes came on the heels of a failure, so I’ve learned to look at each belly flop as the beginning of something good,” said Barbara Corcoran, founder of The Corcoran Group and Shark on *Shark Tank.* http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/11-ways-to-stay-motivated-from-people-who-refused-to_us_58bb461de4b02b8b584dfc82
“If you just hang in there, you’ll find that something is right around the corner. It’s that belief that keeps me motivated. I’ve learned not to feel sorry for myself, ever. Just five minutes of feeling sorry for yourself takes your power away and makes you unable to see the next opportunity.”

7. Look for inspiration.
Inspiration is a driving force that you can use to motivate you. Lyft Co-Founder Jordan Zimmerman said that, “Right now, my daughter is a huge inspiration. Thinking about the future of our cities, the world and what environment she’s going to grow up in.” https://yourfirstmillion.org/2017/05/12/must-see-20-questions-with-lyft-co-founder-john-zimmer/
“Also, the driver and passenger stories we hear every day. In a past team meeting, we had a mother come in and tell the story herself. She is a Lyft driver living in New York and her daughter is in Los Angeles.
"The daughter was going through a rough living situation with a roommate and had to leave and move into a new place. The mother called a Lyft for her daughter, had a quick conversation with the driver and the driver took care of her daughter in this tough situation.”
“These stories inspire us to think how we can make things more efficient and create a platform for two people to have a really positive interaction?”

8. Don’t obsess over your vision.
Yes. Think about your vision. But don’t spend too much time over it or it will bog you down. Elon Musk, for example, only spends around 30 minutes a week on his vision of SpaceX colonizing Mars. Besides those 30 minutes, Musk spends a majority of his time focused on the milestones that are the most immediate and critical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=14&v=SVk1hb0ZOrE

9. Be grateful.
“Most of the time when people ask me about motivation, 80 percent of the time I attribute it to gratitude. If you want real fuel to win, be grateful,” writes Gary Vaynerchuk. https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com/two-secrets-staying-motivated-hungry/
“Gratitude is what has gotten me through my toughest moments in business. Whenever I have lost a deal to a competitor, or an incredible employee, or millions of dollars in revenue, I default to gratitude. It’s impossible not to stay motivated or get too down when you’re feeling grateful.”

10. Forget about motivation.
“So many people wait to feel ‘motivated’ before they do anything. Here’s a newsflash: happy productive people do not wait for motivation, they just get on with it,'' said Marie Forleo. I suggest that you watch the entire video where Marie shares her tips for motivation. It’s spot-on. https://due.com/blog/7-daily-habits-insanely-productive-people/ https://www.marieforleo.com/2012/02/how-to-get-motivated/
Bengali's Special Labra - A Flavourful Mix Of Vegetables And Paanch Phoron
The fame of Indian cuisine on the global platform of gastronomy needs no separate introduction. What makes the country's food culture stand out in the lot are the rich and diversified regional cuisines! Every state has something new and unique to offer; and one such state that needs special mention is Bengal. Bengal's love affair with food is no secret to the world. It culinary history goes back more than a thousand years. A confluence of culinary styles of East Bengal (now Bangladesh) and West Bengal, Bengali cuisine is known for an elaborated spread of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
Although people majorly think that Bengali cuisine is dominated by macher jhol and *bhaat* (fish curry and rice), trust us, it has much more to offer! And one such example is Bengali's famous *labra*- a traditional mixed veg sabzi made with variety of seasonal vegetables.
“Now We Are Six” by A. A. Milne
When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was nearly new.
When I was Three
I was hardly me.
When I was Four,
I was not much more.
When I was Five,
I was just alive.
But now I am Six,
I’m as clever as clever,
So I think I’ll be six now for ever and ever.

Baby When You Hold Me
Baby, when you hold me, my emotions makes it clear
Just how much you mean to me while we are laying here.
I listen to your heartbeat in rhythm with my own,
With every pound that warming sound keeps me safe with love you've shown.
Baby, when you touch me with hands so soft but strong,
You wrap me in your warm embrace, just where I belong.
You hold me close and comfort me all throughout the night
Until you open up your eyes to first signs of daylight.
Baby when you kiss me before you start your day,
The happiness you bring my heart, no words can ever say.
You make my life so beautiful, wonderful, and new.
You're my hopes and dreams. You're my everything; I'm so in love with you.
Countries that quickly ensured widespread use of mask saw fewer Covid-19 deaths
In countries not recommending masks, the per-capita mortality tended to increase each week by 54%
Covid-19 death rates were significantly lower in countries that recommended masks be worn at the onset of outbreaks, according to a newly released study.
The study’s authors looked at Covid-19-related death rates in 198 countries, reports Barrie 360.
In countries not recommending masks, the per-capita mortality tended to increase each week by 54%.
In contrast, in countries recommending masks, the per-capita mortality tended to increase each week by just 8%.
In countries where masks were recommended within 15 days of the onset of the outbreak, the study found the mortality rate was so low that the curve was difficult to distinguish.
The study hypothesized that in countries where mask use was either an accepted cultural norm or was favored by government policies at a national level, the per-capita mortality might be less, compared with countries that did not advocate masks.
The study concluded that societal norms and government policies supporting the wearing of masks by the public, as well as international travel controls, are “independently associated with lower per-capita mortality” from Covid-19.
The conclusions are similar to a modeling study from Cambridge University that suggests population-wide use of facemasks, combined with lockdowns, could prevent further waves of the virus.
“Our analyses support the immediate and universal adoption of facemasks by the public,” wrote Dr Richard Stutt, lead researcher at Cambridge’s Department of Plant Sciences.
“We have little to lose from the widespread adoption of face masks, but the gains could be significant.”
Cambridge researchers suggest that a policy of total face mask adoption can still prevent a second wave.
A group of Canadian doctors and scientists is also urging lawmakers to make masks mandatory in some public spaces.
The Masks4Canada campaign is lobbying for 80% of Canadians to wear masks in public.
The World Health Organization initially advised against widespread mask wearing by the public, as did Canada and the United States.
The WHO reversed course on June 5 and recommended people wear masks in public spaces.

Flood continues to aggravate in different Bangladesh districts
The ongoing flood in the country freshly affected different parts of Kurigram and Tangail where hundreds of thousands of marooned people have little respite due to incessant rain and water flowing above the danger line in major rivers.
The major rivers have once again been flowing above the danger marks at different points in Sunamganj and Nilphamari creating a threat of flooding fresh areas.
**In Kurigram,** around 300,000 people of 56 unions in nine upazilas of Kurigram have remained marooned as of Tuesday, with the victims complaining there was not adequate supply of relief for them.
Around a hundred families have come under the fresh threat of flood as a 50-metre stretch of Teesta spar dyke collapsed on Monday.
Ariful Islam, executive engineer of Kurigram Water Development Board (WDB) on Monday said: "The spar dyke contributes mainly to move river current away from its banks. We have tried our best but it broke due to landslides triggered by erosion.”
"Not too much water has been passing from the broken part. We will work and fill the embankment, so hopefully there won't be any problem after that.”

Many flood-affected people in the district have set up tents and taken shelter on the embankments or on the roads.
Amechha is one of the affected who have taken shelter on roads. Her house, yard, toilet and tube-well is submerged under chest-deep water.
She said: "My husband is a van driver, he has no earnings at the moment. We have to borrow rice and stove from people and eat only that. There is no scope of using toilets during the day and we haven't received any relief."
According to the district's relief and rehabilitation officer, Tk9 lakh in cash and 190 tons of rice and other foodstuffs have been tributed in Kurigram as of now.
**In Tangail,** a 20-year-old bridge built on the Jhinai River has broken down, suspending road communication between 15 to 20 villages in Basail upazila.
Kashil Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Mirza Rajik said the bridge had been declared risky by the authorities last year but people used it to walk and cross through as it saved travel expenses.
"I have arranged a mechanized boat with my money, so that people can cross over to their destinations," added Rajik.
Rojdid Ahmed, an engineer of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) from Basail upazila said: "Tender invitation process has been completed this year to build a 282-metre-bridge to replace the broken one. The construction work will begin soon."
According to the district administration's district relief and rehabilitation office, at least 305 villages in 42 unions have been flooded until Tuesday keeping at least 150,000 people marooned across the district .
**In Sunamganj,** a total of 7,118 families have taken refuge in shelter centres. Crops of 1,489 hectares of land and 360km of river banks have been damaged. The WDB has recorded 190 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
According to the Deputy Commissioner's Office, 865 tons of rice, 2,400 packets of dry food and Tk5,170,000 in cash have been distributed among the victims. Cow feed worth Tk2 lakh and baby food worth Tk2 lakh have also been distributed.
Md Zakirul Islam, acting chairman of Solukabad Union Parishad of Bishwambharpur Upazila, said that 10 villages of Solukabad Union are in danger because of the embankment of the river being damaged in six separate places.

Executive Engineer of Sunamganj Water Development Board Md Sabibur Rahman said that due to the upstream water and rains, the river has overflowed and the water level is also rising locally due to heavy rains. If the rainfall does not decrease, the situation will not improve.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Ahad said humanitarian aid activities are continuing in the affected areas. In addition to relief, water purification tablets, tin sheets and dry food are being provided.
**In Nilphamari,** water has been flowing 20 centimetres above the danger level since Tuesday morning at Dahlia Point, but it dropped by 6cm at 12pm and continues to flow at 14cm below the danger level.
Moinul Haque, chairman of Tepakhribari union of Dimla upazila, said that about 20,000 people from 3,245 families of Dimla in Nilphamari are in trouble again due to the water coming down from India.
Dimla Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jayshree Rani Roy said the water level has risen again at Dalia Point for the fourth time. Local representatives are monitoring their respective areas.
She said that 1.77 tons of rice, 200 packets of dry food and Tk1.58 lakh in cash had been allocated for the first phase of floods. In the second phase, 60 metric tons of rice, 500 packets of dry food and TK1 lakh have been distributed.
**Water level rising continues in Ganges basin**
Amidst heavy downpour and incessant onrush of water from upstream over the past one week, the water level in Ganges basin has increased further escalating a flood situation in char (riverbed) and other low-lying areas in Rajshahi division.
Local office of the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) has recorded rising trend of water level at almost all points like Pankha, Rajshahi, Hardinge Bridge, Talbaria and Goalanda in the past 24 hours ending 9 am today, said Mukhlesur Rahman, Superintending Engineer of BWDB, reports BSS.
**In Bogra,** around 31,836 households, consisting 1.28 lakh people at 158 char and other low-lying villages, were affected by the floodwater which also submerged crops on 8,831 hectares of land in Bogra district, as the Jamuna River was following 88 cm above the danger mark at Sariakandi point.
**In Naogaon,** around 18,800 families have been affected so far in Sadar, Manda, Atrai and Raninagar Upazilas, while 600 other families in Shingra and Naldanga Upazilas in Natore districts, said Moinul Islam, Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division.
**In Sirajganj,** around 3.37 lakh people of 676.5 square-kilometer low-lying areas were affected and standing crops on around 14,013 hectares of land were submerged in Sadar, Kazipur, Belkuchi, Chowhali, Shahjadpur and Ullapara Upazila in Sirajganj district.
ADC Moinul Islam said the district administrations and BWDB are closely monitoring the situation and taking instant steps, when and where necessary, during the deluge in Rajshahi division.
