Crown Shyness 🌳 Good morning world of noise!:) I am sharing my first photo for my weekly theme ‘greenery’. This photo was taken in the Waikato, here in New Zealand and is a brilliant example of the natural phenomena called crown shyness. This is where the tops of trees give each other space and will not touch. This could be to limit spread of certain leaf eating bacteria or to limit damage in windy areas. Most common amongst trees of the same species. This was great to see as all of the trees were swaying in unison! Have you ever experienced this before?
