Steaming rocks of Lake Rotomahana, NZ Following on from my last post, here’s some close ups that the boat was able to take us. I really like the red colours in the Rocky edges, and they were also having steam and hot water pouring down them :) some had mini hot waterfalls coming into the lake. Buried in this lake are the pink and white silica terraces, since the eruption that led to this crater filling up, the pink and white terraces are underwater. Some divers have gone down to check it out which I thought was cool, but they had been mostly destroyed. Some still remained though! Wouldn’t it be cool to see a geothermal under water world!?
