Ending the Tongariro Crossing, NZ Looking down the valley and over the lakes, this marks the final stage of arguably the best day hike in New Zealand. From the previous posts, it showed the intense volcanic valley, and now you can still see that it is volcanic (click the first picture), but going back down into a large forest and lakes. This is probably the best hike I have ever done, due to its varying landscape and just the brilliance of it all :) the tongariro crossing has it all! Peace and love :)
