Little group huddle at sunset turned into a group photo. #weddings #photography
Some beautiful purple flowers I saw in a greenhouse the other day.
Barbecue chicken tostadas. My wife made these the other night with a little help from me. Ever since we had the new baby it’s been a lot harder to cool together so we’ve been passing the baby off in the kitchen while cooking to try to make it work, but it’s hard.

I love this groom's hat. Wish more groom's wore hats on the day. #weddings #photography
Just a little spin in front of the wall of art. #weddings #photography
Kissing in Lincoln Park at sunset. This is from my clients’ engagement session a few months before their wedding. Their wedding was in Indy, but I drive to chicago for this fun engagement session. #photography #weddings
Dancing at sunset. #weddings #photography
Hugging while looking out the window. #weddings #photography
Checking on the chickens in the middle of the wedding day. #weddings #photography
A first look out by a pond turned into a first kiss on the wedding day. #weddings #photography
My sister visited my grandma in the nursing home after her wedding and my son and my niece went as well. The kids posed for a picture with my grandma, which is to say they ran up into a picture my sister and brother-in-law were doing with my grandma and stole the attention. #weddings #photography
My wife has me stand in while she tests lights at weddings veggie ain't the bride and groom over. This bride, Heather, saw my wife shooting some test shots with me and jumped in the photo. This was a fun wedding. #photography #weddings
Dancing in the street. #weddings #photography
Always love when the bride had a good sense of humor on the wedding day. #weddings #photography
I love when people crouch down to get on the same level as shall kids. It's so sweet to meet then where they are. #weddings #photography
Salmon, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts cooked in bacon grease. This is what I made for dinner last night. #cooking
Have to love those bubble send offs after the ceremony! Nothing quite like a bright and happy send off! #weddings #photography
Spent the day with my baby. It was a good day.
Sent this gallery to the bride and groom in the summer, but just note getting around to sending it out to all the vendors that worked on this wedding. This was one of my favorite weddings this year. This couple was just so incredibly kind and fun to work with. #weddings #Photography
Made a curry with rice for me and the wife earlier this week. Threw some peppers, chicken and chick peas into it. Garnished with a little cilantro.
One of our brides showing off the beautiful Mehndi art on her hands on her wedding day. I love this tradition. #weddings #photography
Some more photoshop work. This photo didn’t have the dog in it, so they asked me to photoshop the couple with the dog into this. Took longer than it should have. I had also cut off the top of the Monument so I had to find another photo that had the top in it and combine that with this photo too. #weddings #photography
An oldie… from my first wedding that I shot completely without my wife. My wife got me into wedding photography and the first few weddings I shout as the primary shooter she worked as my second shooter. But this wedding I was totally alone. I tried to pull the couple out for sunset but they were having too much fun chatting with friends. So by the time we got outside the sun was already below the horizon. So I had to pull a flash out and try to make something memorable. This was what I came up with. #weddings #photography
Toward the end of the night we pulled the bride and groom over to the side of the reception hall and stepped outside into the courtyard. We took this night shot in the entry way into the courtyard. Just love finding cool spots like this for photos. #photography #weddings
Working on edits for a client. They wanted me to photoshop the grandparents out of the photo because they did the family photos in a different location but decided after doing this photo with the grandparents that they liked this location better. But we didn’t do a photo of just their family in this location. So making some small corrections. How’d I do? #weddings #photography #photoshop

With an off camera flash, an otc gel and a little work in photoshop you can get those dramatic looking shots around sunset even on a cloudy day. The sun was completely behind the clouds during this wedding, so we had to fake the light for this photo. And we had to photoshop out the lightstand in post. I love how it turned out. #weddings #photography
When you’re stuck inside shooting for winter weddings, windows quickly become your best friends. #weddings #photography
We posted a new wedding to the blog. This was a winter elopement from last January. It was chilly outside so we did a bunch of their photos inside a barn with fairy lights. They turned out pretty good. Tap the link to see more. https://jennifervanelk.com/traders-point-creamery-elopement-todd-kelly/ #weddings #photography
