Is it Required to Have Kids?
I always hear older people asking the middle ones of this generation or those who are capable to have their own family why they don't have children yet. I hear a lot of questions besides this one but I think questioning people to have babies is not a good thing to do. I don't want to hear this when I can build my own family. I don't even think that I would be married because of what my father did.
There are some certain reasons why I don't think asking people about having children is not a good thing to do:
It's Upsetting
What I actually don't get most about people is that they have the audacity to ask other people as if it will not hurt someone. I think that as human beings on this planet who can understand and communicate properly with other living things, we all should "research" first before we ask a question. There are married women or supposed-to-be mothers who experienced miscarriages. And it's a sad and unrespectful thing to ask if they suffered so much to have a child. Not every female body is capable of carrying a child in the womb. Not everyone can afford to pay someone to carry the child or in some other term, "surrogate". We have no idea what that woman experienced when wanting to have a child. There are mothers and fathers who are desperate to have a child so instead of asking them this and that, we should first understand the situation.
Children are not the solution to get away from problems
Unlike money, children are not born in this world to carry someone's name. Babies are not something that you can say is "yours" so that when they grow up, you can do whatever you want on them. And if they want something else that you don't like, they should be punished. I don't see children as something that is mandatory for every human being. Although having children is great since they can contribute to society one day but that's not a perfect picture to put on someone. I have seen parents who use their kids as a stepping stone to get away from poverty. And it brings that burden on these kids' shoulders that they should find a sustainable job to support their family or even families because of the relatives, which is wrong. Yes, as children, we do have to give back to those who helped us but not to the point that we are being abused.
It is common for an individual to finish school and find a job to afford what the family needs. It is also common for that individual to help other relatives. What is uncommon is that these "relatives" treat that person as if he or she is a robot that whenever you want money, you can easily get one. When an individual with big dreams finds a job, after he made sure that his family, which includes the parents and siblings, are okay when it comes to financial situations, he or she is now able to live life to the fullest. But that's not what always happens. The person is lifting his or her relatives to the point that all of them will get stuck in the ground.
It's a whole new responsibility
Having kids is a responsibility and it's not something you find "cute". I always see people on the internet posting a picture and the caption is "Why does someone doesn't someone find this cute?". Well, the answer is whenever I see a baby, I don't see them like a teddy bear that I will just leave and do nothing about it. I see them as human beings that I don't want to give them the experience of whatever happened to me in the past. It may take a lot of consideration and patience but it will be all worth it.
On top of it all, as I have said, I have no plans on getting married. If I will adopt, then let it be. There are so many children being left out because of unbelievable individuals.
Is War a Political Decision?
Politics is always a major concern in society. It helps us build that standard peace all should have and also destroy those who don't benefit, either the society or the ones in the chair.
When we attempt to explain the phrase politics, we have a lot of trouble. Politics is viewed differently depending on the scale and region.
I think people misunderstand the idea of how politicians think. Not all politicians go to politics to help the people in need. Not all of them will hear the cries of those victims. Not all of them are there to support. And not all of them are gifts to how humans should properly behave. Going back, when I was a little kid, I always have faith in these politicians in my town. I always believed that they are doing their best to give the needs of the people. When I became a scholar, I am so thankful to those in the local government. I am thankful that they are giving that opportunity to many students to pursue their dreams in life. However, I forgot to thank the most important ones, the taxpayers. Their money is actually what most students get and they are the reasons why these politicians get paid and do their responsibilities. I actually never heard someone from any seminars regarding the scholarships, thanking the taxpayers. Or maybe I am wrong. Maybe the money that we get is not from the taxpayers but from these politicians, but the question is, where do they get all of that money, considering we are thousands under that program?
Anyway, let's talk about how politics affect every single situation this planet has?
People are social creatures. They are citizens of society. People are frequently accused of behaving politically in their interactions with respective managers and coworkers in the workplace. They must unite and make a conscious effort to live.
Most of the people's actions are greatly affected by the laws made by politics. And we experience it most of the time. When we kill someone, we go to jail, but it depends if we are still proven innocent under the court of law. There are still processes to be made before the judge gives his final verdict regarding the suspect. And these murders will also be categorized by the "level" of murder. Bails can be denied by a judge even if there is bail for that case. When we cross the street unproperly like if we cross a pedestrian lane when the lights are green, we will get punished. When we steal, we also get punished, even behind bars. These types of "unhuman" things are categorized by politics, to whom shall be free or to whom shall spend their lives in jail.
There are many reasons why war starts.
One of which is because of religion. Religious disagreements are frequently linked to other causes of warfare, including such sovereignty or retaliation for a presumed chronological injustice in history. There are many wars in history that started when a certain group wants a certain religion to be spread and another religion to be taken away. Dating back to the late 11th century, Western European Christians conducted Crusades, armed journeys in reaction to years of Muslim expansionism. The Crusades also influenced mainstream religious life and sentiment in Europe, notably in Western Europe. A whole other common religious activity, pilgrimage to a sacred site, was highly correlated with such a Western idea of holy war. The Crusades are a contentious chapter in Christian history, and its indulgences seem to be the focus of ages of scholarship.
The second reason can be Nationalism. Invasion is a common theme in nationalism. It is an ideology that prioritizes fidelity, commitment, or patriotism to a country or political entity and believes that such commitments are above other internal or external interests. However, it always depends on the context. Cultural identity is critical in the formation of a cohesive nationalist organization. Conflicts amongst racial or cultural groups, as well as historical strife, may enhance the chance of war. In order to sway mainstream sentiment, a nationalist administration may promote such emotions of alienation.
The third reason would probably be the Defensive War. Now, defense is always a major thing in each country. Each country contributes to the economy, with the right amount of money. And since each country has its own ups and downs, some countries try to take over that country, in return that soon-to-be invaded country will do everything for protection. However, in most cases, these supposed to be victim countries will attack first before they can be attacked. They treat it as an "I will kill you before you can kill me" thing so that they will not be surprised by anything that will happen.
There is so much more reason why wars start.
But how does politics come into the picture? Well, since the greater force is in the higher office, governments have more power to control the military than anyone else. It is unlikely for someone to just start a war without many people behind them, however, it is also not an impossible thing to do, it's just unnecessary. These people in the government are still humans and they feel emotion. And what do humans do when they want something to be them? They fight for it.
The Final Leg in College
The exposure to the outside world where you get to apply the skills you have learned throughout your journey in college is both exciting and nerve-wracking. It's a bit intimidating to be in a professional industry where you consider yourself a newcomer and everyone is just staring at you.
My first somewhat "internship" program was in 2017. I took an Eco-tourism track for Senior High and we are required to work in a resort in my town. It's one of the most popular resorts anywhere in the country because of its uniqueness in terms of the theme and the ability to make visitors go back in time and experience how Filipinos live. I was excited since it was my first time to be in an industry where I got to work. Since our program has 4 different "courses", we are required to be in different areas to be able to apply what we have learned and learn more knowledge about it. It was fun at first since there are many opportunities and we get to see how employees do their job regularly. However, during that training in Senior High, I notice that most of the staff in the resort I was working on taking advantage of the "new people" that were added to their group. Not because their workload was cut off but they were the ones to say that these are the things that they do and then leave it all to us and do the smallest things in their job functions. I didn't have the time to speak up since I know that I'm not in the position to say something since I'm a nobody in that area and even if my mother works in that place and everyone respects her, I don't think that I should be saying something that will make someone feel bad.
Overall, I must say that I had a good grade since I did my best in everything. Not because there are people who are watching but because I know that it's my responsibility to do what is needed for the job. And I'm 100% sure that it's not because my mother was there but because I was into working at that time.
Even though we have no allowance or salary during that time, I was proud to work there. However, it is not the same in college.
Not because college is a different area of perspective, but because time has changed. The pandemic cut off most of our ways to be able to survive in terms of financial situations. There are times when, as one of the people "who work a day to produce the food for the day", my mother and I think of what we can put on the table so we can save some for tomorrow. My father is not a responsible man because we had to message him before he can even give us money. He is not living with us and whenever I look back, I'm just mad at myself for even asking him for money. But on the other side, we just really need every help we can get.
Going back, since I'm on my last leg in college where, besides the thesis paper and another major subject, I have to find an internship program in a company. It's kind of hard to now since unlike in Senior High where the teachers will look for the company you will work on, you have to do it yourself. Although I have companies who are emailing me, there are some somewhat red flags to it, including the following:
Full On-Site Work
The curriculum says that we are only allowed to have limited "face-to-face" interaction with the employees and the company.
Although this is a good set-up, this is not a good case this time because of the pandemic. There are still cases out there and it will be hard for someone like me who has no confidence in her immune system to get exposed to an area where I have to go through a lot. Although I am fully vaccinated, I'm not okay with that setup. Also, the main reason is that because of the school requirements, we have to be in a hybrid set-up.
Full online work is a positive thing since the pandemic is still happening.
No Allowance
Well, my intention in finding an internship program is to have the experience I need to use after college. However, it's not a good thing right now since I'm desperate for financial assistance. Also, my professor already said that it's an advantage that we have an allowance, even if it's just $10 every day, just so we can use it as a transportation allowance. It's also a good thing for my family to cut off some slack in terms of financial obligations.
The Emails are not Professional
I know that companies are supposed to write formally. And the email that I received from one company seems like they are just texting me. And since I was desperate for the job, I keep on answering. But in the end, I just think that it's not a good sign since professional work requires a professional responsibility.
Anyway, you can help me by suggesting a company or providing a link so I can apply. Although I have an interview for tomorrow, it's always a positive thing to have options.
Why You Should Read the "Terms and Conditions"?
We all just click the OK button whenever an app update or whenever we purchase something online or just when we are about to open up the application or software that we just downloaded. And we have several reasons why we do it. Mine would have to be that I don't think there are conditions that I have not already read before that certain thing was downloaded or bought because I know that the most important details were already said or stated. Some people would have to be that it is very long. And I actually don't blame them since most people don't like to read or are just not in the mood to read a very long document.
One of the reasons why these Terms and Conditions documents are very long is that if you will read them, there are many things that need explanations. Just like in TikTok, where if you are a content creator on that platform, you might want to read the document. I have not yet read all of it but with what I have read, there are many conditions that matter when you want to get in their so-called "For You Page". It's like the discovery page on Instagram where when you like a certain video with a caption that has a hashtag that talks about cats or cars, the next you refresh the page, you will most likely see a lot of cat videos and photos. Upon the update of TikTok, when you want to create content and you want it to be seen by many people, you will have to read their new terms and conditions. I don't know yet if there is a new update but in the last update that I saw, here are my thoughts:
Sexualized Content
Videos where nudity and those that are not appropriate for the public eye to see, especially since there are minors in the platform, will not be seen on the for-you page.
If you have heard of "thirstraps", which I do think isn't even a word, this will not likely be posted on the for-you page. Thirstraps are those videos that make people think of sexual temptation. These are videos that have sexy bodies of women or men but not to the point that they are naked.
Although I do think that in the first place, these types of videos can already be reported and banned, I think TikTok is just being more strict since there are a lot of kids featured in the app.
Picture-only Video
Videos that only have pictures with captions will not likely to be posted on the for-you page.
If you have been to TikTok, you have probably seen a video where there are only pictures and just a few captions in that video. Most of the videos I saw that fall under this description are that religious-type of videos where it says "If you don't leave a heart, it means that you don't love Jesus." These captions clearly show how ignorant some people can be and how these creators just want their video to gain likes by guilt-tripping someone.
Reposting of a Video
Videos or edits made by other creators that have been posted by another creator will not be seen on the for-you page.
This one is actually pretty obvious. The thing about reposting is that when other creators do it, it definitely falls into copyright, where you steal something that was made by somebody else. Although there are cases that it has that watermark, however, there are several websites that can clear that mark and can make you post that video or edits again. I respect those people who don't remove the watermark, especially video cuts from news reports or documentaries or films or TV shows.
Reminder, these three are not just the new terms and conditions of TikTok, there's a lot more in it.
Terms and conditions define what might proceed in any particular scenario. They define the main business terms you provide to your customers and assist legal stakeholders in understanding their obligations, privileges, functions, and obligations. Consumers have the responsibility to read every document that collects their information because it will affect your way of thinking and your approach into something.
People will most likely read a document when they purchase a gadget or a new appliance since these are like materialistic things. However, it's no different when you sign in to an online platform since they are also collecting data.
Do You Believe in Life after Death?
What is the point of dying if we will be alive again? I think people get the misconception that reincarnation is not the fact that a soul will just get into another body and will continue life. I think the deeper meaning of reincarnation is it's like a book, written by the same author, but has different stories.
Life is full of ups and downs. I may experience more downs than ups but I'm still grateful for what I have. I do think that mankind always has that appreciation feeling, probably depending on the situation or depends on who that person is. It's all about how we handle a situation. I have been in a situation where I don't think I will last another day. It's just full of problems and you have no one by your side. You can't even blame somebody because they will just come back to you. But after thinking about something a man shouldn't do to him or herself, I thought that if I won't see the sunrise tomorrow, I will regret every decision I have made in my life. We all know that it is really hard to accept and move on when someone will not open their eyes again. I think that having no option to get back is the end of things. People who have suffered so much trauma with regards to the unhuman situations we can all experience deserve so much better. The fact that the victims are living in a world where no one believes them is another feeling of sadness.
I want to discuss things that in my opinion are somewhat related to life after death. I actually asked some kids in my area whether they believe that they will come back after dying or it's all going to end after their last breath. And to my surprise, they believe that they will come back. Kids are actually innocent when it comes to these things but I am happy that they took this question as if they are mature enough to learn about this religious belief.
One thing that I'm always optimistic about is déjà vu. If I'm not mistaken, we all have experienced déjà vu. That feeling when you are in a situation where you felt that this happened before, maybe in my dreams or physically wise, I have been here once or twice in my life. I am not the kind of person who always leaves the house and if I do, it's either for school or work or if I am to buy something. I don't really trust the outside world so it's difficult for me to chit-chat with other people. Even though I don't do much stuff with regards to meeting new people, I do think that I'm doing a different thing every day. It may not seem like it but I have a good feeling that I don't step on the same stone twice. With regards to déjà vu, I have experienced this a lot. The last time I experienced this if my memory is not lying to me, is when I was leaving my room. And you know, déjà vu just comes into your mind suddenly without you knowing it. And I did have that feeling. I thought that I just repeated how I left the room before.
Mind you, believe it or not, I am one of those few people that déjà vu is one of the effects of reincarnation. I mean, I'm not a philosophy graduate or a very religious person but I do think that these things tie with one another. Seeing the world through our eyes is a whole new world every day. And from my perspective, I won't feel that déjà vu if I really haven't been there before. Every day wouldn't be a new day time will just keep on repeating. And even if you are doing the same thing every day, you will never get that feeling that this is what happened yesterday. The 6 o'clock jog yesterday will totally be different by now and tomorrow.
I say this and I stress that I have mixed feelings about living in the past and just had a new version now. I may not be those kids who you saw in a video that talked about how they knew this person, even when they haven't been there before, and just starts talking about that person and how he or she died. There were documents that supported these kids' statements regarding their old version. I am actually amazed by it but I still want to experience, on my own, to see and talk to these kids and find out everything they know about their earlier life.
I know that some people will find this crazy but we all have different opinions so I want to know what's yours.
I Became a Victim of Multi-Level Marketing "Company"
You know those advertisements where you only have to "copy and paste" messages since they provide those sentences and you can apply even if you have no degree or are a High School Graduate. Then they will message you and ask you to join a group or immediately attend a seminar because if you don't, you will not qualify for it. I have seen tons of things like this. At some point, I do consider it as a scam or just like making people believe that this is a company to the next level.
I once attended a seminar from Makati since I received a text message from an unknown number but I was convinced that I filled up a form for a "job" that requires you to "mostly" work from home. It happened at night so after my class in the afternoon, I just changed my clothes and went there already. And here are my thoughts regarding my experience.
So the first thing that really bothers me is the fact that the venue was not that inviting to the audience. It was like a small altar with nothing on it but chairs, lights, microphones, and a projector. I know that start-up companies always start with small pieces or like those things that are not extravagant. However, this company earns thousands of dollars in revenue so even though it doesn't have a manufacturing company at that time, I don't know at this point, the venue could have been a larger and intimidating place. I don't want to be rude since I'm okay with simple things but I know that in the business industry, in order to convince something is stylish, you have to have fashion. There were not many people who attended the seminar but it was okay for me.
So the guy introduced this lady who was a single mom and was a businesswoman already before joining that team. In my mind, she is already a somewhat rich woman and based on how she styles and presents herself, she looks like that rich auntie you will find at a family reunion. So my expectations when I attended is they will show you how to earn already or what is the process of the business, but no. The lady just told her story and how she got into the company and how peaceful her mind is after joining. It was okay for me at that time since I'm inspired by what I heard about her. And here's the thing, one thing that I noticed about marketing strategy is that you have to be convincing enough to tell a story that is over-exaggerating yet people who don't know much about your company will be able to believe everything that you are saying. And I have to admit that I was really intimated by the fact that I will earn that promising money they present. At the end of her speech, she said that they will have another seminar where the two heads of the company will give their speech. She said that, if I'm not mistaken, it only happens once in a while that they will present for the people who are willing to learn and they will discuss how the business works and how much money will be earned. Since I was excited about it, I really don't even know why I joined but I did and paid the seminar with a fee. During the second seminar, they did discuss the products but the way these two heads presented can be somehow the same as the first woman who did a speech. I think people are just excited because these are foreigners who are experiencing first class of everything. But what's really funny is that I thought there were a lot of people who attended the second seminar but no, half of them are already part of the team who are just sitting with the audience. Overall, I was not impressed however, I am optimistic so I joined the preceding seminar. And by the way, the two heads were there all the time, it's not a "once in a while" thing. It's just part of that marketing strategy of the team. I think Filipinos are just excited to see a foreigner doing a speech even if he or she is not even that of a high-profile person.
What happened on the third time I joined the seminar was the last time I will ever join that kind of seminar. In the third part, I felt like I was attending a class and not a "work" type of thing. Although I was really into it, it got to me that this is just buying time for the people and they were just deceiving each individual. There was no excitement about it if you will look at the overall picture. And the one thing that really bothers me is the fact that these people are presenting the strategy that if you pay a certain amount, you will already have someone or two under you. It was like a pyramiding scheme done in a formal way. Some people paid and were given back a certain amount of money which is not even a fourth of what they paid. Not many people will probably notice it since they were in a place where everyone wants to earn money. My question is that why are you making these people pay? Because in my mind, since they were recruited by these two women, obviously, they will be under you. Yes, it does take a lot of effort to recruit people, however, you are not helping them to make money to the point that they will be "financially free", it was these two who are being financially stable. It was just deceiving in a nutshell.
As I was writing this, I just realized that they are making more money with the audience paying rather than when they are selling a product. There are people from that organization who said that they were earning money are happy in terms of their financial life but I don't really think so.
I am not against anything but, of course, it's always a good thing when you make money without harming people in any form of manner.

It's Hard to Get a Job in the Philippines
One of the things that bug me a lot is the fact that there are a lot of "levels" an aspiring employee has to go through before being able to land the job they desire. I have seen a lot of jobs postings on sites where Filipino employers are allowed to post jobs applications. And most of them include in the post the process the people will take in case they apply for that job.
The first thing that I can't understand is the fact that some of the jobs say in their titles is "Entry Level", which I thought was it's okay to apply for that job even if you have no experience. I know that companies are designed to make money, but of course, you need people to work with you and have their experience as good as possible. And as for the employees, even if you have a bachelor's degree, you will not land that job your course is designed most of the time. Sometimes, these postings from companies even include in the description that it's okay if you have zero experience, whatsoever, but they still require applications to have at least 6-12 months of experience. I mean in a nutshell. you can't land a job if you have no experience. But you need a job to be able to gain experience. The Bachelor's degree does matter since it gives the credibility that you have studied a certain course that the job requires you to have but, still it doesn't work like that in most cases.
Another thing is that the expectations are very high. I can understand if that job is on top like Managers, Senior-type jobs, and jobs requiring you to lead people. But obviously, I am applying for a job that only requires people who are new to work but has the skills to do the job. The amount of pressure a Human resource interviewer makes on an applicant is what I am really concerned about. I applied for a job before and I had to do an online interview. What I am really not happy about, although I think I'm not supposed to think that way, is the fact that the woman looks like she doesn't even like me. I don't know why these people are so "serious", I mean it's a job so you have to be serious but not that serious. I can't even remember if she smiled at me. Maybe something happened on her part, but then again, you are recruiting people to work for your company. You can't find people, most of the time, that has that confidence to smile at you when you can't even smile back. The questions I had were actually just the basic ones but during the assessment, I had to turn on my camera and microphone while she doesn't have to. Since I am really desperate for the job and I was there already, I just said Yes to everything. Although she gave me some spare time to finish my work since I wasn't done with it, I was really un-intimated by her presence. I just smiled the whole time, but inside, I was not feeling the excitement I was supposed to feel.
I just don't understand why these HR people are meanwhile the security guards, that I have encountered, were friendly. The tables have turned probably.
Lastly, as I have, jobs go through so many processes before landing a job. I saw a job posting in Indeed where after they gave you a call that you have been invited to a phone call interview, then you did that interview, there will be an assessment. After that assessment, you will have to go to an interview once again before having the final interview with the boss. I can and will understand if you're applying for the vice-president position in the company or they are finding someone to replace the Chief-Executive Officer but it's not the position I saw. I can't remember the exact title of the post but it has something to do with programming because I always filter the search into technology-related jobs. I also saw some comments on Reddit where they really call out these employers who think that they are above everyone since companies in western countries don't even do that. I think I can probably say that it's true because I once applied for a job abroad and all I did was an interview, more like a chit-chat because the questions weren't really that complicated and just an assessment. I think I didn't pass the assessment because I didn't use most of the programming languages they want me to write but I'm okay with it since right from that moment, I know I have to learn more to be able to gain more knowledge in programming.

Why Death Penalty Shouldn't be Legalized in the Philippines?
We all have our own opinions and reasons why capital punishment should or should not be allowed to be applied in a certain country. We have watched different documentaries to know what happens to an individual when convicted of a crime punishable by the death penalty. We have seen a country's situation if ever the government imposes such a law and how the people react differently. I haven't been in a country where it imposes capital punishment so my own-experience thoughts are not a credible source but I do have opinions regarding this matter since there are still countries that have this kind of law.
Actually, if we are to look at the Bible, both the Hebrew Testament and the New Testament, there are cases where such people are killed by other people as part of a "law" where if they have been convicted of a crime, they should be put to death. As many people know, a punishment called "stone-to-death" can be a form of capital punishment, since the people are in a decision when it comes to a criminal's consequence. In ancient Israel, stone-to-death is a "normal" thing, especially if the person had done such cruel things as blasphemy and idolatry. Blasphemy is speaking not-so-respectful words towards God and idolatry is having another figure that is categorized as God. In the Hebrew Bible, capital punishment is a thing. People believed back in time that whoever strikes a man shall be put to death. This notion was rejected by Jesus in the New Testament. However, you can still read in the New Testament the story of Saint Stephen, recognized as the first martyr in Christian theology. He was taken out of the court during the trial of his case which was blasphemy, taken to the city, and was stoned to death. His final words were forgiveness to those people who put him in his last position.
By the way, when someone corrects your opinion by using the words in the Bible, you may question them if they are talking about the Hebrew or the New Testament. These books have completely different opinions on things since Jesus was not yet born in the Hebrew Bible.
I'm going to state my opinion regarding Death Penalty. Overall, I do believe that Death Penalty is a good law. It may sound inhuman and un-Christian but there's a deeper picture on it. Capital crimes such as murder and drug trafficking, or even rape since there are countries that used the death penalty as the final verdict for proven-guilty criminals, can be lessened or even put to zero cases when capital punishment is imposed. I honestly think that people will be bothered with how their future will be stopped if ever they committed a crime. However, people are not thinking the way these laws want them to think. We have laws provided by the government because we want to order and peace. And if you don't have a law or the law you just broke, that's your fault because you should know these things. In my opinion, most crimes under the laws are those that are "disturbing" crimes. Because as you can see, a crime is a crime when you did something horrible to a person, simple as that.
People always say that there's still a chance for a person to change when they committed a crime. And this is why people are not afraid to break the law because they know that they will not be dead when they do it. It will only be a scary situation for them when they disturbed an individual who has the capability to put the law in their hands. We have second chances in life, same as the criminals. However, what about those victims, whose lives were ended by someone. What about their dreams and families? What about these victims' plans for their future? Their second chance never existed anymore because of a crime by someone. This is only my take on the reason that people deserve a second chance. Because that is not why the death penalty should be imposed.
But even though I am pro-Death Penalty, I don't think that it should be a law in the Philippines.
First of all, the justice system in the Philippines is not as good as we think it is. The law is not on the people's side most times. There are times when people can easily manipulate someone or a situation to be able to get out of a crime. Innocent people may go to prison and get killed if justice failed on their part. There is this case of a man, Paco Larrañaga, who was put to jail because he was convicted of rape and murder of two sisters. He was not given capital punishment, which he was supposed to have, because former President Arroyo changed the law. If you are going to look at his documentary, you can really say how innocent he is, alongside his 6 fellow inmates. The most unrealistic part of the trial is that Larrañaga was not allowed to test in his own defense which was already not a good thing. Because even though you are said to be the one responsible for the crime, you have to explain yourself, whether you are telling a lie or not. This is an interesting documentary so I really recommend watching it. It shows how the justice system in the Philippines can be biased if they want to.
Second of all, money is the root of all evil. People in general, not just the high-profiled individuals or those in the government, are overtaken by money. When someone commits a crime and they have money to pass by the punishment, they will pay a certain amount. When people want to process documents, even to the extent that these documents will look real, they will pay good money for it. Even those who are sitting who should be balanced when it comes to cases in courts can easily be taken over by money. I'm not saying that all of them but since we don't know who's who in the ocean, we will look at all salmons as one. We don't even name this salmon so we all categorized them as a single thing.
As I said, I haven't been in a country that has a law of capital punishment. But if we are to look at different things in the Philippines, right now is not the time to do it.
Photocopier: Netflix Movie Review
I saw a Facebook story that has a screenshot of a YouTube timeline from one of the celebrities I follow on Facebook wherein she watched the trailer of this Netflix film called Photocopier. I was intrigued by it so I went to YouTube to watch the trailer. It wasn't that exciting when I watched it however I thought that it was kind of suspense and I'm optimistic so I gave it a try.
Reminder: First scenes of the movie were spoiled.
The Photocopier is a movie about a schoolgirl, Suryani, who joined a theater group where she makes their website to be known worldwide. She also uses this opportunity for her portfolio and to have that scholarship she wants. The play that the theater performed won an award and as part of the celebration, they decided to have a party over Rama, the group's photographer, and also a son of a very wealthy man. Sur's dad was a very strict religious father so at first, he was hesitant to allow her to go to the party, he wants Sur to prepare for the presentation for the scholarship tomorrow, but her mother allowed her so she still went to the party. She went alongside her friend, Amin, who works at the photocopying business in school. At the party, Rama's father offered Sur a job to work with him and his friends. Since it was a party, everyone was celebrating alongside drinks and other things that shouldn't be allowed to people in general. Sur woke up the next day in her bed and started rushing because it was her interview for the scholarship. She didn't have time to change so she was still wearing that party dress, which is inappropriate compared to a formal outfit. At the interview, the board members were not pleased since they were very strict with innocent practices. Sur's drunk photos were posted on her social media and she lost her opportunity to be chosen. Sur was kicked out of her home and had to stay at Amin's house. She wanted to do her investigation by hacking into their accounts whenever they plug in their phones in Amin's shop and this was where all the other secrets of the theater group members were revealed.
The first part of the movie was actually a typical movie start. I have seen movies where innocent high school young girls and boys went to a party and then in the morning, woke up with a very disturbing situation. One thing that I want to point out is that the cinematography of the film is not that Oscar-worthy on my part, but is actually amazing if we are to talk about a local indie film. I'm not that amazed but it was enough for my expectations for the film.
Also, since I'm in line with what she wants to be in life, it made me excited to watch the entire film. I also want to be a website developer and I can say that making websites from scratch doesn't only focus on that box. Hacking into someone's phone in a network that not everybody will care to know is a different and cool level of practice. However, I actually love the film more if they just made Sur the type of character who is into cybersecurity. I mean, if someone who is not working in the Information Technology field is going to watch the film, it would not be a new thing if that website developer likes to hack. But if you are into website development, you would know that they are two completely different things. However, in the deeper picture, the technique she did to hack can be done by anybody else since it was not that difficult, you just have to think smarter.
What I totally love about the film is that it keeps you alive whenever Sur discovers something. Because she lost the scholarship, she wanted to know who posted the pictures that were taken. And I thought this will be the focus of the whole film. However, I love how the people behind the story and film knew that if they will just focus on who was to blame for the pictures, it will not be a good film. This is what I love about Netflix films. I just love their twists.
The first pivotal part of the film is, of course, the fact that Sur is hacking into those phones. It was good, not amazing, but still good since not only she was going to everyone's pictures, also their social media accounts. She did find things that will go for the first climax of the movie. The first secret was revealed when confronted the group and going on to the CCTV footage that night since they were partying in a very wealthy family's house so there will be cameras all over the house.
The first theater member she blamed in the film was I thought was the one behind everything. And even though the movie presented several pieces of evidence that it was not him, there's this slight kick that maybe it was really him. And maybe the storyteller just wants the audience to think of another different member to blame. I held onto the member she chose but it went off as the film goes on.
I just have to say that whenever I watch this kind of film, I always like to go through hidden messages. Maybe those messages were not that deep, I want to find the eggs before they can even cook them. And for the first time in my Netflix movie history, I actually love this movie's twist. I mean I haven't watched that many Netflix movies since I always like to watch old movies, except horror flicks. This is not a horror movie but the suspense of how Sur is eager to find a solution that will make her satisfied to know who is to be blamed is what makes it more beautiful.
The main twist of the film is that everyone will be glued to their seats. I love how it represented the start scenarios all the way to the end. Some of the scenes may not be connected to the main problem of the film but it brings that suspense to the viewers. It's like being in an obstacle course where you have to go through different challenges before you go to the finale.
The ending was a bit off since I want more to it but it's enough for everything I want in the film to at least happen.
Overall, I will rate it a 3.5/5.
The Conspiracy Theory About Michael Jackson
This case has bothered me since I was in high school. I'm not a fan of analyzing something, whether it's a problem or just a cold case, that doesn't seem to have that much evidence. Well, we all want pieces of evidence because we just can't rely on someone since everybody seems to be good at lying. However, there are people who are, when presented with a shred of evidence, look at those documents and tapes as if they are fake, then just don't care anymore.
We have these times when out of nowhere likes to watch documentaries that talk about serial killers roaming around the city and don't seem to bother that they have killed someone. I watched this movie called Photocopier on Netflix and it wasn't what I expected. It was a great movie and it shows how money can easily manipulate people and situations where the rich will always take control of everything. We are not seeing the bigger picture of life in that same manner. We don't know if Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world right now because I am not buying the fact that there are no other people or families who have more billions than him. I think it's only because he is being transparent on how much he is making in a year, alongside taxes (if he's ever paying for one) and other assets he has. Also, since history is written by mankind, there are some instances that mankind manipulates what should be written and what should be not documented. The worst part is that it will go with textbooks and journals that children will read and understand. It will be hard for them to learn new things or change their perspective because they might just not trust anything anymore.
I am not convinced that some celebrities are dead because some are paid to make them be reported as dead when they can just roam around like normal people. The media just wants to report something they want people to know. Because they are a company and they work for, most of the time, money, it won't be a new thing for them to document something that will make someone a bad influence.
Going back to the year 2009, the world was shocked by the sudden death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. It was really devastating and the world was mourning what happened. He was supposed to have a concert and everybody was excited about it so it's really shocking that all of a sudden, he will just be reported dead. But as months pass by, there are speculations that Jackson might still be alive.
Let's look at the several pieces of evidence circulating the internet.
The first one is the fact that he was seen going off the ambulance that took him to the hospital. There's a video clip that Jackson walking after an ambulance took him to a hospital. In the clip, he was seen wearing white. I don't really know if he's really wearing white when he was taken. Maybe some of his staff manage to put clothes on him because according to reports, he died in his bathroom so he might be naked at the time of his death. He was reported to be overdosed by surgical anesthesia Propofol. According to my research, it is some type of medicine for curing the fact that a person is losing memory of events. Maybe Jackson was involved in an accident or maybe due to aging, either way, he's having a hard time remembering moments. The man in the video clip seems to have the same height as Jackson. The man was not seen in front of view so no one can really tell if that is really him. Well, the door of the hospital he was getting in is on the south-part side so nowhere near he is going to turn his back. Assuming this theory is true, in my opinion, even if you're still breathing at that time, obviously, you won't have time to stand up and go inside the hospital to be tested or cured. Well, maybe you can but with the help of someone. I can't say that I'm not buying this one but maybe with more evidence, this might be true.
Second of all, I don't think his family is not as sad as I am expecting them to be. I mean not everyone is sad for the whole number of days that their dead relative is lying in that coffin for everyone to bid their final goodbye. However, I just don't feel that they are really sad deep inside that Jackson is dead. What I felt when I watched that is they are faking it. I know that it's a hard and bad thing to assume to a family but I'm just not buying it. Well, maybe they are not "that" sad for the reason that their tears are completely out of stock already. Or maybe they just don't the people watching over the television to see how they cry since the wake is televised all over the world. Or maybe Michael's family are not really "open people" and maybe deep inside, they prefer a private wake. But Jackson is known all over the world people want to see him one last time.
I know that being a celebrity might be that bad because you have people, not just in your area, but all over the world looking at you and watching you. It might be hard for someone to go and buy a donut and then just be shouted at by a group of teenage girls. Well, technically, they pay your bills and you're in a public eye so it's hard to act badly in front of them. Also, people often prefer celebrities to be as perfect as they can or as cool as they can be, either way, people want celebrities to join their vibe, and even if you're not really doing anything wrong, if they don't like you, they don't like you, as simple as that.
The Thing that Scares Me
Having fears is totally common and fine for an individual. I don't really get how people say that they are not afraid of anything because I believe that we all have weaknesses in life and it doesn't matter if it's the simplest thing or the most dangerous thing in the world. I think that those who say that they are scared of anything are the ones who are ready to face the fears and the ones who are ready for anything, even if it's completely new to them.
Ever since I was little, I have had my parents by my side. Up until I transition to college, they were having a hard time allowing me to find a job. I thought they were just really scared since when I moved to the city, they were completely strict with me. I don't really mind about it because I always know that everything is just for my sake. When I was in the province, I wasn't really that allowed to go out, except if it was for school purposes with my friends. Well, I'm the only girl in the family and in my mom's side of the family when it comes to the grandchildren so everyone has their eyes on me. I am not that forced to have good grades but I know already in myself that I would be such a disappointment if I ever get a bad grade. When I had one, my mom didn't really scold me but what I noticed is that she didn't stress me out more so I went calm and cool when I had the other half of the semester. I love people who adjust themselves towards a situation, instead of blaming others.
Asians have this tiger parents thing. Although I didn't experience that type of thing because my parents were not really angry, even in the most problematic situation in our family, I am really sorry for those kids who had experienced it. I have seen a lot of students or working students or even those who already graduated and are working now who are being forced into a job because they have to deal with the bills. I know that as a child, we all want to help our parents when it comes to responsibilities involving money but being stressed out both physically and mentally is not really a good thing. It is not always about the fact that we all want to make a living but what is going on inside of us. Not everyone will be on your side when the time comes or in the times that you want to release the fits of anger inside so it's not uncommon for people to lose their minds. There are many people who think that depression is just a joke when it's not. People who keep telling that are the ones who are a joke. Not because you didn't experience it doesn't mean you have to be blind about it.
Anyway, what really scares me is the fact that I don't think I'm ready for work. I have been doing my best to learn the programming languages I have to know because there are a lot of competitions after college and it's kind of stressful. I can't force myself to know everything in a short amount of time because it will not help and the knowledge will not really be up in there. I haven't worked for a programming company before so I think it will be hard for me to justify the fact that I can code if I were to be put alongside someone who has a 10-year of experience in that field. I had an exam once where I had to make a chat app. I wasn't hired obviously because I lack the skills. I can re-apply now but I'm still learning. It's hard to learn something that is beside the lessons we learn in school so I was not able to do learning as much as I do now.
I am afraid that I won't be able to help my mom with the bills even though I am really trying hard. It's also hard to put a promise to someone you really love because there is that slight kick in you that you are afraid to disappoint that someone. The bills are getting high and it will be hard for me to get a job that pays the bare minimum. I know that we will all start from the bottom but we all have to set the standards high because the stakes are high.
If we don't put that much effort into something, we will not receive what we want to.
The Movie That is So Much Ahead of It's Time
I think almost everyone living in this world is such a movie person. And we all have different genres, whether we prefer a family drama over an action-packed film, a romantic-comedy story over a sci-fi film, or a horror-thriller movie over an adventurous plot. What matters is how a movie tends to tell a story and how to entertain its audience. Well, there are movies that are not really good, like how the actors portray a character how the cinematography seems to have a low budget, or just the editing itself. Also, there are times when the audience thinks that a certain movie is just made to make money and does not really care about the true meaning of storytelling.
I'm more of a horror movie person. I would rather watch a horror film that I've watched before than some other romantic film. I know that it's kind of boring, compared to how girls are depicted when it comes to playlists of their films that they watch on Sunday night. I barely know people who actually watch a horror film and enjoy them. Well, I always hear how they were so scared when they watched some, which is actually the point of the genre, but I rarely hear people talk in happiness when telling their experience about a horror film. So it's quite interesting when I meet people like that.
With all the reviews I have seen about movies that people think that is ahead of their time, I always see "Jennifer's Body", which stars Megan Fox. The movie is about a high school girl who became immortal after being sacrificed by a band for them to gain popularity and then she started to kill humans, boys or men at first, but as she said in the film, "I go both ways.". Amanda Seyfried also stars in the film as her best friend who is the one who knew everything and was able to get rid of the necklace that makes Jennifer immortal so she can kill her after Jennifer killed her boyfriend. In my opinion, I kind of see how the people view the movie, not just because it stars Fox, who is one of the popular actresses at that time when the movie came out, but how the story is told and how the characters were not what the people are ready for, but also what the people want. If you actually go to YouTube and search for the film's specific scene like "Jennifer's Body scene", the first thing that will pop up is the scene where Seyfried and Fox's "We all share your bed" scene which has over 400 million views. I think the people are missing this type of film. Actually, if you will go to the overall picture of the movie right now, no one is ready for Megan Fox to star as a bisexual vampire because no one has ever done that. Other vampire films and series are either the teenager-go-to aura like Twilight or a history type of film or an action film in which the vampire main characters were dominated by men. No one actually made a vampire movie that stars a sexy woman. Well, maybe there is a movie but has not that much popularity compared to how Jennifer's Body is still being talked about today.
In my perspective, Jeepers Creepers 2 was the one that is so ahead of its time. I didn't watch the movie before because I had this thought that every movie that was made before 2000 was kind of an old-school film and most of the films I watched were not really that scary. Well, A Child's Play was good and it was entertaining and I think scary for kids if they will watch it so this will probably make the top. However, when I watched the second Jeepers Creepers, it was a whole completely different level. I got fascinated by the film because I saw a scene from a social media platform.
The movie's opening scene is on a farm where the son was taken by the Creeper and you can see the son's dad and brother going after it but they were too late. It then follows a school bus that carries a bunch of high school kids who seems to have gone in a match where they won. One of the bus's wheels was sliced up by the Creepers sort of "knife" but has four blades. The students don't know about this one so they were not that creeped out by it, but what happened made it difficult for the bus to move furthermore so they got stuck on the road. The lady driver was the one who got caught first by the creeper so the students all freaked out. One of the girls in the bus had the sight of what the creeper is and was able to talk to one of the victims before she passed out. When they confronted the creeper again, it pointed out its victims by smiling at them. They were attacked on the bus and some died already because of it so they decided to get out and look for help, even though one of them already called out for help. But after they went out, the creeper is back and since the one who is left behind didn't want to open the door, they all ran to the fields. Some died once again and those three who were able to make through went to a broken-down car to run again since the creeper is chasing them. In the end, the father was able to shoot the creeper by the head and killed it. Well, not really kill it but it was not able to move which is a good thing at that time.
If you will watch the movie, even though as a horror movie fan, some scenes are predictable, it was amazing to watch. The cinematography was not what I expected and they were able to deliver those scary moments most of the time. The actors really did a good job in convincing the audience that they are really scared, not that good of acting that is Academy-worthy but enough to entertain and fulfill a good role. The creeper's "costume" was a big hit for me. I didn't think that the costume was that "real" and it was actually a good thing to wear during nighttime. The way the creature fly and scare the students is also a standing ovation. It was not that scary if you were to ask me but I think if you're not a horror movie person then you will get scared by it. I love movies that I think have a lot of jumps scares but tend to scare you in the most simplest or unpredictable manner.

Zero Filter Mouth
Have you ever met someone who doesn't seem to care less or more about someone or something as long as his or her speech benefits his or her ego? It's common for people to say what's on their minds and what they think will be the best way in a situation they are or will be in. The fact that we have freedom of speech is what everyone seems to justify every time they want people to hear what they say.
When I think about a debate, it's about two parties arguing about a certain problem that needs an immediate solution or they just want to reason out why something needs to be done. We have all been in a debate during school works, either via project or we get into an argument. And we will always hear different thoughts and opinions that turn everything upside down. What I like about a debate is that not only can people voice out their opinions about something, but you can easily interpret how each person reacts and answers a question. There are situations where people tend to get out of their comfort zone as if they are a different person speaking.
I went into a debate once on why rivers are so dirty and we have to prove that it's the government's fault. And I can say that we didn't make the best out of it because it's still a give-and-take attack. If I am doing my best to be able to justify that the government is at fault and my group mates seem to be blank during the debate then we have no chance of winning. Well, in a nutshell, we didn't win. And if I am going, to be honest, I'm disappointed that I didn't do a thing to improve how my teammates will react to each spontaneous question. I had a high grade since there are individual grades but I felt sad for my other teammate who had a low grade. However, during the argument scene, I actually got proud of myself for being to answer each question. I can't say that I reviewed each question, but if you were in that chair and they keep asking questions, you are the one who's going to manipulate the lawyer since, at that time, she didn't seem to bother how each question will connect to the other. From the first question that was given to me and how she said the question, even if she said it with slight confidence, I knew immediately that she is also questioning how she will make me nervous. I had no filter at that time because I wasn't thinking if what will I say can greatly affect the preceding questions. However, if the lawyer was able to notice how my answer is not really connected to one another since she asked differently, I think I might have had a low grade at that time.
Having no filter actually depends on the situation. If the other person seems to not think as well, then that no-filter person who's constantly talking about things that don't make sense, then there is no point with the argument. Of course, we have freedom of speech, however, it must be taken with responsibility. Humans have emotions and brains and they are not stray dogs that you will beat with a stick and it will go away because you seem to threaten it. Humans can either fight back or just go away, there's always another direction to go.
One thing that I hate about people who have zero-filters is that they are, most of the time, the ones who don't really have that much intelligence about something. I don't want to say the right word since I will look really rude. People have a different level of intelligence and the ability to consume data from books, videos, and every stuff that has knowledge so we can't really judge people on how they argue. But if that person seems to introduce himself or herself as good or expert at something, of course, people will get confused or mad if they seem to not think about what they are trying to argue.
Well, if you really want to know more about something, you can always find a book. If you have the ability or are fortunate to have the right equipment, then you just search on the internet. The reason is that you will never know how the other person thinks or will be thinking so assuming that you want to win an argument, you must always pack ideas and facts.
The Actor that Plays the Same Character
Every movie actually puts its own spin on how they want the audience to view or understand the story. Even if the movie is a remake or a sequel, there will always be that uniqueness that the writers, producers, and directors want to be able to satisfy and fit into the new world. I actually go to the cinematography of a movie first before the way the actors handle their characters whenever I watch a movie. It's where critics can easily pinpoint the bad and the good part of the film since they look at the story with the same amount of focus as they do to production design. The overall score will run down to how everything matches together.
People today want value. So when an actor pitches to have that credibility to be able to act and perform better than what is expected and he or she does the otherwise then it sets the alarm bells ringing. There are movies that take advantage of what their actors can do or how these actors are viewed by the audience, from the most popular to the least known. I know that movies are made by actors since it's their job and they want to bring home the bacon, however, it's part of their entertainment history where they just don't want the audience to view it as a comedy thing. Well, there are comedies that are top-notch and are considered to be outstanding because of how the story was done. However, there are times that the production just takes advantage of the situation and people because they want to make money.
I have huge respect for actors and actresses who puts a lot of effort whenever they do films. I find it amazing how they can transform from a different person in real life to practice a character they have never done before. Just like how Jacky Chan managed to do Rush Hour even though it's an English film and he was not that good with his English language. There are a lot of bloopers that can be watched on the internet where he has trouble pronouncing English words, especially if it's like a tongue-twister sentence. But what's amazing about it is at least he didn't just try, he did his best to be able to perform since he knows the audience is expecting him to play a great inspector in an English production. On the other hand, if you know the one who played Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, in the first two seasons of The Crown, Vanessa Kirby. I find her portrayal of royalty better than the second one who took over. I didn't say that Helena Bonham Carter was not great but I actually prefer her in that role. In my opinion, the preceding roles of Kirby are totally different from one another. I haven't watched all of her films but those I have watched are really different characters.
Kirby was part of the film Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw where Dwayne Johnson is in as well, alongside Jason Statham. And I'm not a The Rock hater but I am having a hard time contrasting him to his other characters like in the Journey to the Mysterious Island, Skyscraper, Rampage, and to other films related.
I don't know if it's just a coincidence that Johnson is playing someone who always gets in trouble, whether it's in the city or in the jungle. I haven't seen him do a different character with a different storyline. Well, his movies are obviously different from one another but the portrayal of his characters, in a nutshell, is actually quite the same. I haven't seen all of his films but most of the movies he made are battles with another battle. Actually, he's great with those portrayals and I don't see anyone, in some of his films, portray it better than he does. However, if you will look at the bigger picture, he acts the same way in a different production. Well at least, he is not like Tom Holland who looks like he goes to a different set and wonders how to get out of it but since he can't, he just dealt with the movie. I can understand if it's like Tom Cruise in his Mission Impossible movies or Liam Neeson in his Taken movies since each one follows a character in a different problem in a different city. I'm not sure if Johnson really wants to become an actor when he was a child or if he was a theater actor because if he is both or just either of the said ones, he could have done better acting, in my opinion.
Again, I'm not a Johnson hater. He's actually a funny guy whenever I watch his interviews and from what I watch and hear, he looks like he's a great father. Sometimes, I just wish I had a father like him. He seems to be a very great dad that will just help you with your math problem and both of you will just cry in the first question, then just have a breakdown for the rest of the problems.
Filipino Superstitions
I think most Asian countries have their own set of beliefs. Beliefs that are ranging from family values, funeral practices, Holiday celebrations, and just some mandatory household rules that must be followed by everyone else.
I barely see the western side of the world have their own superstitions just like the Asians do. If I do get to see or watch one on television, it must have been like following a certain rule for formality and not because something will happen if people disobey it. Like there are movies where when you go to this area or house, a ghost will hunt you or there's a movie where you stole a book and if you read some texts in there, something mysterious will happen. From my perspective, these are all in connection to the horror side of life.
Some of the superstitions that don't make sense but must be followed, I think, in every household in the Philippines are the following:
You're not allowed to go straight home after you've been to a night vigil.
People who had been to a night vigil are not allowed to go home after they leave. It is one of the most strict rules that everyone must follow. It is believed that when you leave a night vigil, the soul of the dead is following you. To be able to not follow you until you go home, you must make that soul go somewhere.
You can't bring home food that is from the night vigil.
I really have no idea why this is a thing. I think it has the same reason as above. The specific reason why this is followed is not even like that popular so most of the time, nobody knows why it should be followed. But again, when someone serves you food, you have to eat it there.
You can't make promises to the dead if you won't do it.
This doesn't only apply during the night vigil, it applies as your life goes on. Just like the other day, my little cousin wants to visit the tomb of our grandfather but it didn't happen because of the pandemic rules. The following day, she got sick. And one of the traditions is to make the person either wear or put on like a blanket a t-shirt that is the color of red. Most of the time, it works so I'll probably let this pass by as something that should really be done.
You're not allowed to wear the color red, in any form of clothing, during the night vigil.
Well, contrary to the last rule where I stated that to be able to get off the sickness, you are not allowed to wear red. I don't actually know the reason why this must be followed. I have seen a movie where it's like a family-comedy movie wherein the main character was forced to change clothes because he wore a dress that is sparkling red. There was no explanation involved though.
You're not allowed to make your teardrops drop into the coffin of the dead.
If wake-goers give the family of the dead an amount of money, the money must be divided for each member.
I think this is a basic rule. If not all the money was spent on something the dead must have like a coffin or pay the people who will help for the funeral or they decided to cremate the dead, every family member must have a share to the remaining amount.
The "Bulong"
There is a Filipino movie that talks about this certain rule. The "Bulong" is not really a rule, it is just something that is done but should be done in the right way. "Bulong" is where a person requests something to the dead by whispering it. It's just the simple things like "Always be there by our side" or "Don't ever lead us to sickness or something bad."
You're not allowed to use any form of a mirror during a night vigil.
A Filipino movie talks about this rule and it's not something that I usually hear when I go to a wake or night vigil. I was actually surprised when I heard about this one. However, I have never done it and I'm just lucky that I don't use mirrors most of the time.
There's probably more to this list that I didn't know. However, everyone must always know the things that should be done and should not be done. We can't always say "Sorry, I didn't know about that.", because it's just like government laws where one must always be responsible to know the rules to be able to have a good community.
What's Your Biggest Pet Peeve?
We all have that one thing we all hate. Whether it's annoying to hear someone who is chewing so loud or people constantly interrupting when you're trying to say something or someone pronouncing a word in a different or wrong pronunciation, we all have our unique hates. People don't really have the same hate. I think it's one of our uniqueness and maybe that's why many people will judge you just by hating that one particular manner because they don't really understand the whole concept of it.
I think pet peeves are those things that seem to be basic human rules that people shouldn't be doing but they seem so simple so people think they can get away with it. They are not really that inappropriate but if you know someone who doesn't like this thing or prefer you don't be like this, it will be disrespectful if they constantly do it to annoy you. I know you can't really change a person's behavior or attitude unless you do it by an evil force, some people just can't really bother to at least understand a situation. Some people's pet peeves are made from experiences and some of these experiences might be traumatizing for them. We all wore different shoes every day and even if it's our partner or family or relative, we don't know all of the things about them so it's a standard thing, not a flexible thing, to show understanding towards a situation. It's never a bad thing to question but make sure that before you ask questions, you know that the ambiance wouldn't be awkward. If a person says "No", then it's a no, simple as that.
My biggest pet peeve is someone or people that are always late. Even on simple matters, I always want people to follow strict rules on time. I'm not a businesswoman or someone that has a very hectic schedule, but I find time something that must always be precise. It's annoying how people think that time is not that of a big deal.
Ever since I was a kid, I find it rude when people think that they can just enter a queue as if they are very important. Like when you're buying groceries and there's a line, even if you're only buying a single pen, you have to be on the line. Everyone has to wait for their turn. Not everyone is kind to allow you to be "inserted" while they wait because, in the first place, you are already being rude not only to the person whose turn to pay for their groceries but to other people in line as well. Unless you're an older woman or a pregnant woman who shouldn't be exposed to so much stress by falling down in a very long line, then it might be okay.
Growing up, whenever we have group meetings or I go to a seminar, I always turn up early. I don't really want people to wait for me because I know you can't buy time and you have to respect their presence. However, this is where that saying "Don't do unto others what you want others to do unto you." doesn't seem to work. If I say that we have to be in this place by 9 o'clock in the morning, people will come at least by 9:30 or some will even come by eleven. I really don't if it's my fault that what I said is "Be there at 9" when they understand it as "Be ready at 9", that's why they turn up at different times. I will have that negative vibe throughout the meeting because people can't seem to follow simple instructions. I know that we all have different scenarios at home that might affect what is supposed to be done the following seconds, minutes, and hours, but since we are in modern technology and those modern people have cellphones, it might be best to at least inform someone from the group that you're running late. It's also not an excuse anymore that traffic was a barrier for someone to be there on time. Traffic is already part of our lives and we just have to make the best out of it. If we really want to be there on time, we will wake up early and hit the road early as well.
I have total and high respect for everyone who updates me or their loved ones about something, even if it's a simple thing. I think that when we tend to do a good thing towards a little situation, we can do it in a bigger picture.
We all deserve respect and understanding, even if you are not a multi-millionaire, you deserve a respect just like the President does. This is why I really don't understand the concept of the Very-Important-Person position. People under this code think that they are an exception to the rules or they are being more prioritized better than everybody else. Everyone deserves that respect and quality.
"Everyone Loves Bacon"
This is probably an out-of-nowhere article if you were to look at my posts but I just really want to talk about bacon. It's something that people love and enjoy. There is even a website where it has a wide variety of articles talking about bacon. I find the articles on that page very amazing to read so you might want to check out Huffington Posts.
One of several neurologic meals that might bring you joy is bacon. Bacon is a mainstay on several cuisines, ranging from restaurants to fine-dining venues. It is quite often used in daily meals and sandwiches.

Bacon screams home. I first tried to eat bacon when I was in 7th Grade. I actually requested it and my mom obliged my request. It would have been more delicious if it was hot. When my mom cooked a Filipino-style carbonara during the Holidays, it was the best thing ever. I actually enjoyed it very much and from then on, it screamed home for me. When I had some carbonara in the city, the thought always brings me back to where I should be. It always screams the fact that my mother made the most delicious dish that no one could match.
However, there are several disadvantages when you prefer bacon every day. Consuming bacon on a daily basis may have a bad influence on your cardiovascular health. You will notice an increase if you eat carbs from snacks and drinks then you burn via workout, everyday routines, and just maintaining all of your bodily processes working. If the opposite is true, you will burn calories. Although much is made of bacon's fat content, around half of it is monounsaturated fat. Bacon is commonly associated with sugary snacks, however, this is mostly owing to the multiple combinations it may be found in. It is considered that bacon seems like one of those meals that people eat more and more after many bites. Consequently, several medical specialists are concerned about the health consequences of ingesting too much-saturated fat. While many are made of the fatty acid composition of bacon, 50 percent of it is trans fatty acids.
As always, watch what you eat, which is probably boring stuff to do. But of course, in order to live healthily and think smart, you must always maintain a healthy body, even if it's not those 6-pack abs gentlemen or 24-waisted woman.
It's Hard to Fix a Broken Family
Many people consider a broken family having no father or no mother or just no both of them. But for me, the whole concept of being in a broken family is that feeling of every day is just a battle to survive to be able to feel that love from a family. It is critical for guardians to organize the home effectively to avoid difficulties in the household because a family comprises not just the parents, but rather the children as well.
Home breakup is not just a direct cause, but rather a series of dangers. Parental stress is a significant predictor of increased morbidity and mortality in both undamaged and non-intact households children. The parental divorce process might result in frequent family structures.
The most typical disagreements between a married couple include financial difficulties, romantic misunderstandings, forced marriages, unwanted pregnancies, schooling, medical problems, and so on. Family bonds may be stressful and characterized by mistreatment, anger, and cursing. Harmful family structures might be difficult to identify. Any action or situation that leaves you feeling rejected, undesired, or even just lousy with yourself is probably not good.
One thing that is unacceptable for a kid, especially those who are born without love from both parents, is that it will be hard for them to love themselves as they grow up. I have seen several movies that talks about a kid who was separated at birth and the end result would be either they are longing for that love that was taken away from them or they hate everybody because the first people who are supposed to be on their side were not there at their most difficult times. It will be hard for a kid to adjust since love is the basic foundation that a family must-have. It's like the walls in our house and if it will have cracks, the house will not function properly. As the crack grows and spreads throughout those walls, it will be hard to fix unless they start all over again.
Many young people experience family disintegration in today's culture, and family structures will likely be different. Adolescents from dysfunctional families have challenges in their educational excellence, self-esteem, and conduct. Students may protest towards their parents as a result of parental expectations that impose their personal opinions and decisions on them.
Children are affected by their parents' legal separation in both the near and distant future. The marriage problems of parents might have a long-term impact on a child. The findings underscore the likelihood that children ’s learning and development encounters with disagreement amongst their parents would have long-term harmful consequences.
Because it is connected to their unique needs, age is an essential aspect among youngsters from broken households. I honestly believe in the fact that kids will never lie unless they saw older ones doing it. And from our side, my little brother always tells the truth. I noticed that whenever we talk about our so-called "father" who abandoned us, it's hard for him to say the word "papa". I think because deep inside it is hurting him and he won't just admit it. There are times that he doesn't really want to talk about and just changes the topic real quick. He's just 9 and even though he is starting to develop the mindset of a little young man, he doesn't want that negative vibe going on around our home. One time, my mom is being flirted with one of their customers at work. We were actually laughing about it that she might give him a chance but my little brother heard it. And he said that he doesn't want another father. I'm not a medical expert on the mind "field" or how "automatic" reactions of a kid towards a situation but I know that there is something hurting him to the point that it's hard for my brother to have another masculine vibe in our family.
It is quite possible to actually sever connections with your relatives when they do not value you and therefore are giving you significant grief in your existence. A relationship is a labor of love, and it needs commitment not just in remaining attentive, fixated, and interested in the tiny and major occasions.
What If You Have No "Actual" Friends?
It's hard to accept that you're only friends with those who are in your class and you don't actually have friends outside of it. It's like they all have best friends that they can call and go out to have lunch but when it's you, you have no one by your side. It's like being an orphan or even a biological child where you're parents have their own "set" of kids and you're the black sheep of the family. It's hard to "fit in" in a group where you differ but it's way harder to "fit in" in a group where no one actually wants you to be part of.
Growing up, I don't really have that many friends. Although when I was young I do hang out and chat with some kids in my neighborhood, as time passed by, everything changed. I have a friend that I consider as my best friend in school since we always talk and we sit beside each other during class but it all changed during the last leg in grade school. I was involved in a fight where I reported that some girls in my room were trying to cheat in an exam, alongside my other friend. This group of girls answered an exam even before the exam was given to the whole class. We videotaped it and we showed it to one of our teachers. I actually didn't know why we were the ones to blame when we were just trying to fix an evil deed. When we were being bullied by those girls, I was outraged, and worse is that I didn't actually see my best friend with me during those times. I didn't bother to apologize to the girls since I know I did the right thing and I think, it actually got into those girls since they were the ones who actually step up first to say sorry so there will be no more elephant in the room. We were back on good terms and it was a great feeling.
However, after that circus scenario, I found out that my so-called "best friend" was the one who said that it was my plan to report those girls. She said it to my face when we were in a park and I didn't say anything. Right then on, even if I want to talk to her again, I didn't bother to at least make an effort for us to speak. It got to me that I shouldn't be spending much time with the people who will be with the popular ones instead of the real ones. Well, those popular ones do have a real side but to be a traitor in a friendship that we built for over 6 years is never worth an acceptance of the apology.
When I got into a new school, it was a whole set of friends again. If I have to be honest, even if I had a roller coaster ride during my high school days, I can say that I didn't have that many problems when it comes to friendship. I have friends who go to my house most of the time to bond and we had a good time during those moments. Of course, there will be bad eggs in life but we sail across it to be safe once again.
Transitioning to college, I did have friends as well but, of course, and still, I was not the "main" friend. Since I came from the province and I don't know anyone from the area I stayed in, except my relatives, I had a hard time talking to people. I was not a confident person so it's difficult to speak up. I do ask questions since I need answers because I am new to the area. The only time I had to visit the school was during the exams and I went straight home after that because it's a city. It was a rough adjustment but it was needed to be able to push through everything that will happen. Although in my set of a friend, I find that maturity that I'm looking for in terms of problems and pieces of advice. What's great about it is since me and my friends were in a class full of boys, we didn't even bother to look at ourselves in the mirror most of the time. Although we fix ourselves up in terms of appearance, the boys can't be bothered so it was an advantage to not look that good when you go to class.
What's not great about having friends is that it's hard for one to adjust to a situation. For me, since the pandemic happened and I had to go back to the province, I have to stay at home most of the time. Even though it is really a good thing that you stay home for safeties, it doesn't apply to most situations. There are times that you will have to get out and do some stuff like fixing documents or buying groceries. And in terms of school and studies, you can't really go to your classmate's house to do work. There are moments that in our area, the strictness is not that high since the local government does try their best to not let anyone from other places come. And since it wasn't that strict, we are allowed to go out. But since it has been almost four years since I went to college, it is hard to speak to your "friends" again. Either they are all busy or you are the one who is busy.
The thought of friendship isn't a good thing for me because every time I think about it, it hurts my mind that I have no real friends to be with.
Is Confidence More Important than Appearance?
What happens if you don't have both the confidence and the appearance that society has standards on? It's a bit intimidating to see how a person has both the good-looking figure and the ability to express themselves towards a situation or a crowd of people. Landing a job would be a step forward since the skills are what needed to be enhanced since you already can present.
The standards of society when it comes to physical appearance are never easy to build. There's a lot of boring stuff to do that nobody wants but if you want to achieve that good figure, you have to do those workouts and diet routines. I went into a gym workshop during college with my friends to be able to get that body figure I want. We went during the second year in college but since the pandemic happened, I never had the chance to properly do the routine we were tasked to do since there is no gym in the province that I am staying in right now. Although I can do home workouts, it's a bit difficult to do when you have a lot of stuff to finish besides school works. Whenever I watch videos on YouTube or Facebook or other social media platforms or even in Udemy classes, I always see a lot of effort when you want that body. For me, it's really hard to exercise even if I wanted to. Although I try to at least lessen the food that I eat, it may take a lot of time to see my body's changes.
Society, including me since I am part of that group, wants women to look slim and healthy. We do have people who will accept our appearance since I know few people who don't care about your appearance, whether you're fat or super thin or just normal. I actually admire those kinds of people since they have a good perspective in terms of life should be in terms of freedom and lifestyle. However, we should never go beyond fat or thin since it will really affect our health and will result in even worse outcomes.
Most of us believe that what's inside is what always matters but I have to admit that good-looking people are given advantages every single time. Most of the celebrities we know have beautiful faces and are given more attention even if those who are not that pretty are doing the same level of professionalism and artistic talents. Some celebrities don't even have to have a talent for everybody to talk about, some take advantage of the wrongdoings for people to comment about their bad behavior and some are really trying to stay relevant. I am not a celebrity myself nor know someone who works in the entertainment business but I know that bad publicity is still publicity. Just like that not-so-good tape that Kim Kardashian and Ray J starred in, I know that it was meant to be posted for people to talk about. And I think everything blew up for the Kardashian-Jenner clan after that video came out. Their physical appearance is what the viewers desire to be so it's hard for those who don't want that look to fit in.
What I really want to put forward in myself is to have confidence. And I know that in order to achieve that status is to get rid of the mindset that I have to please everybody, especially my family. It's hard for me to be in a situation where I know that someone will be disappointed with my presence. I have seen a lot of people who can actually talk with such powerful voices and aura which I envy since that's the type of person I want to be. Appearance does matter but I think that confidence is way better. When you have that voice to talk about something, everybody will listen. I once read an article where there's a teacher who explains something to a new set of students and the students actually listened and takes about the lessons. The plot twist is that the topics and ideas he presented were not true and it shows how confidence can easily manipulate other people. When you talk about something that other people don't know but you say it with a clear voice and presentable outfit, they will listen to you.
When you go to a mall or restaurants or seminars, the speakers or hosts must always be confident in their work. They have to have that voice and powerful tone in order for their customers to win their trust and respect. Whenever I go to seminars, I always listen to the speakers. Although I still think through what everything the speaker says, I can see how everybody is starting to get into the conversation just by listening to the words the speaker says, even if, I think, they don't even understand what he was saying. I once went into a business seminar where they are encouraging people to invest in their business to have that successful lifestyle everybody wants and as I looked in front, I see a bunch of mothers who were really into the discussion. They were even laughing at his jokes even if they are not that funny. Other people in the back just started laughing because of those women.
Well, both the appearance and the confidence must always be partnered. One must not go, otherwise, it will ruin a lot of things or you may not land on your desired path walk.
The Importance of Being Practical
Being practical is kind of the same vibes as thinking "inside" the box and just staying with the "real" way. Most people look at it as having a very clear set of goals and inside that goals are specific ideas to be able to achieve them. It's like having a recipe where it says to heat oil in the pan but instead, you write it down as heat oil in medium heat for at least a minute before you put on the garlic and onions. I actually prefer this second one over the first statement since, for someone like me who doesn't really like cooking that much, it is very helpful and can bring a lot of knowledge.
I actually admire those people who have a clear idea of a situation. It's hard for me to be that type of person since I look at things in a general manner which is not supposed to be done. It's like when I'm doing a presentation, I tend to outline the things I have to say from the introduction up to the point that I have to pass the mic to my teammate. Instead of having a sort of "script" on what I will say in case I went to this idea before the first one, I write things down in general. For example, if I have to discuss cybersecurity in front of everyone, I present the idea where I say the definition first then I explain what I think the definition meant then I will give either an experience or an article that I read on the internet that talks about cybersecurity. Although it may sound like a good thing, I see it as not. I think when you write down specific lines and understand them at the same time, it's easier to present an idea in a vocal manner instead of thinking in a spontaneous manner. This is when being practical goes in. When you prepare for a lot of questions that can be said during the presentation, you will have a set of specific answers as well. It may sound and look like you wrote a script but it's called being well prepared. I have seen a lot of my classmates have a script but just write things down for the sake of saying something. Unfortunately, it's their loss since I think even when having a script, one needs to understand it as well.
I usually hear this "thinking outside the box" comment whenever I watch a reality cooking show. Those Gordon Ramsay cooking competitions where contestants must present a dish that either may sound ridiculous or mind-blowing but still taste amazing. The Western side dishes that the contestants make seem to be a difficult one for me, even when the judges say that it's simple since I grew up in a home where practical dishes are being served every day. And by that, it's hard for one to understand a concept that seems to not go together but you get surprised when the judges actually liked the taste of it.
Creativity is what everybody wants and likes and for someone who has been inside their comfort zone, their time to shine is to do something unfamiliar to them. This is why I prefer indie films much more than mainstream movies. I love the simplicity of the cinematography and acting that every scene gives and the fact that everything is considered "raw" is what makes the film so fun to watch. Although most indie films are not advisable to be seen by many audiences since it talks about everyday living where people are not "aware" that younger audience are watching, those movies send a message to the movie watchers. Like those movies that are featured in Cannes, I love them. And it actually hit me just now since I always wonder why I barely see kids go on the red carpet is because the scenes in most films will be disturbing to them and very inappropriate.
I know that one of the ingredients in order for one to become successful is to do something creative and not stay in that "normal" tone. I have been in tons of seminars where speakers say that for one to be as "rich" as they are, people have to do stuff that is not quite what everyone expects them to do, in a positive aspect. The last seminar I attended, before the pandemic, is led by two foreign women where they opened their "branch" to Filipino people for them to achieve the better life they want. I like the idea since it's like a call center-based job but instead of just being paid to sell stuff to other people, you can also get paid from recruiting other people. It's a pyramid type of job but not really a scam since I can tell by the looks of it, they are admired and professionally acclaimed because it's an international company. I never went to the preceding seminars since the advantage of having money already is "no go" since you will see a lot of people who buy like a "position" wherein if you pay a certain amount, you will already have someone below you so when they earn, you will earn as well. I know that I shouldn't be jealous but it's not my passion and I do think that I have to do what I love and not just get carried away with the money.
Being different is good but being different for the sake of "being different" is not. It doesn't apply to most situations since people have different tastes and yours is probably not what they like. By the way, I heard that statement from Hell's Kitchen so kudos to the female chef that became a judge there. Well, being different in a group of people can be a good sign that you're either doing good in life or you're not up to their standards. If you're doing good in life, people will look up to you or get jealous of you. It's not always a positive thing since you will have a set of people who will do everything to bring you down because they get insecure about what you can do and what you are now. If you're not up to their standards, people will make fun of you. In any way, it's considered bullying. We all want everyone to succeed but when they do, it hurts their ego.
I have to say that I had a lot of experiences were looking back at now, I could have done a better job and could have said something way different. But like I said, I really want to stay in the zone since it's hard for me to fail. Not everyone wants to fail but it's part of growing. I do have failures but a failure that will greatly affect my life is not a good thing.
I Think I Have PTSD
I thought it only happens in movies where the main character experience this type of syndrome. It's a condition where very often the character seems to have flashbacks of the bad events that happened in the past to the point where everything just breaks down.
I find it hard to believe and somehow accept that I have a disorder where my mind just simply controls itself without me knowing about it.
PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a condition where a person or an individual gets triggered by a horrifying event in the past. It may be an accident that someone saw or something that happened, that any human doesn't want to be. I researched about this once but I never knew that I could easily justify that I think I have this mental health condition. I am not any science or health expert so I can't really say that I have this one but as I looked through hundreds of research and articles on the internet, I get scared little by little as I read them. It happens when someone finds it hard to move on or cope up with that terrifying event. Although I have read that most of the events that may trigger this condition are those that are really traumatizing like sexual abuse or a car accident or a terrorist attack, I still think that what happened to me can be considered as a traumatizing part of my life.
Since I was a child, my father likes to flirt. Maybe he's missing the part of his life where he just wants to go around with girls and not take any responsibility and just enjoy life. I witnessed my mother crying over him which, at that time, I find really painful, but now I find it really bizarre. As I transition to High School, my father started a job at another place. I kept telling myself that the reason why he doesn't go home for Christmas or any other important celebrations in our family is that he has to work as a Security Guard in an establishment. I know that security guards are very important during the Holidays in malls or restaurants since many people are about to celebrate and just bond with their family. I have to admit that I was too naïve with everything and it hurts my soul right now. I actually had to slap myself for bringing him into my graduation ceremony instead of my mother. He doesn't really deserve to be in that important moment of my life.
When I went to college, I had a lot of male classmates in the room. One of them I find hard to be friends with since I don't feel his vibe and it's hard for me to at least talk to him. He's friendly and actually funny when it comes to jokes and stuff. However, everything changed when we were in a laboratory and we had to do a networking exercise and he said something that I didn't like. I forgot what the topic was but then he said that "If a married man can cheat, then those who aren't wearing any ring can too." I remember my friend who I was partnered with at that time saying that he should never say that because the kids are always caught in the middle. I know she also sensed the bad vibe since I talked to her about what's going on between me and my father. After that statement from his mouth, I never dared to talk to him again. I know that he's a good guy, a loving boyfriend to his girlfriend, and actually an intelligent student, but if he is thinking in the right manner, he would never say that, even if it's meant to be a joke.
Another mind-boggling thing is that I had a friend, she's like the mid-50s and I enjoy her company as I take a quick break before my next class in school. As we chat, I talked to her about my father whom I don't share a room with and she said that maybe since we don't live under the same roof, he's living with another girl. I keep on defending him against other people who say that he's cheating but turns out they are right. When I confronted his mistress, instead of having an apology from her, she just said that I have to "accept it" and "move on". For someone like me who didn't experience any evil things around me since I grew up in a conservative family and both of my parents don't curse and stuff, I witnessed a very horrible nightmare at that time. When I talked to him about it, he never even said anything to be sorry and I felt like he planned everything and just thought that maybe I will just accept what he did.
That night I didn't bother to text him anymore. I just chat him if I need something, just for him to at least be responsible father, even if he doesn't deserve to be called that word.
When the pandemic happened, my father did give us money in order to survive but it isn't enough since everything is expensive. I know that I have to be grateful for everything but it pains me when I know that he's also supporting his other family better than us. He came home last Holidays but didn't even bother to actually see or talk to us. But what really concerning is the fact that when I heard the news that he went home, since my mother, little brother and I are living in my grandparent's house, after five minutes of hearing that news, I started crying. I was in a group meeting at that time so it's hard for me to focus. I didn't really know why I cried since it's like it just happened with no explanation. When I was crying, my mind went into a complete flashback, from the time I confronted his mistress to the time I confronted him up to the ignorance of his responsibility on us.
What actually is worse than having to cry all of a sudden is that I find it hard to trust people nowadays. I have downloaded an app where I thought I can somehow make friends, even if it's just on the internet. However, it's hard for me to say anything. Like if they reply to some of my messages, it's hard for me to find the motivation to at least answer back, to the point that most of my pals just started ignoring me and getting angry at me. I know that it's rude to not reply since it's like you're being mean or it looks like you are on top of everybody else and you don't have time to talk, but I was really trying my best to get that eagerness back.
I know that a disorder shouldn't be put into someone without proper medication or treatment or tests so I can't conclude something for now. And besides, I don't really have the money to make an appointment with an expert.
If there's any medical expert here in the field of mental health conditions or if you know anyone, please let me know your thoughts about this. I'm getting kind of scared since I know that this will affect me badly and worse if I don't get proper treatment.

When you live in the Philippines, especially in an area where the Filipino language is much more spoken than any other language and then you speak a different language, people will see you as different. When you start speaking English in that place, people will see you as someone in a higher class or when you speak another native language, they will judge you and they will think that you're cursing at them. It depends on the way of thinking of the person around you.
Even though many creatures communicate in their own ways, humanity is the only one who has achieved intellectual likely to be expressed. It is what distinguishes us as individuals. Humans are the only ones who actually have the ability to have their own language. If we are to look at the idea of evolution, people before don't really utter words. We still have news where there are people who don't want communication with the outside world so researchers say that they use "words" for whom they are the only ones who understand.
Language is the means through which individuals connect. It enables us to communicate our ideas, emotions, and emotions to everyone else. But also expressions come in the way. We don't easily say words without the proper tone. You can't really say you're being generous or appreciative when you are speaking too loud unless you're far from each other.

As I listen closely to what he's trying to say before when I asked him a question, I realized something. The language he speaks in English and not Filipino, that's why it's hard for us to understand what he's trying to say. It is also a difficult thing to understand that a Filipino baby would speak a different language when we don't even use that language on a daily basis. Our initial thought is maybe because his daily television shows are Disney shows so maybe he adopted the cartoons' way of speaking and language. At the same time, we actually felt proud since, at a young age, he is able to pick up a lesson that he alone understood without anyone teaching him.

I have seen many videos on the internet where people speak the English language but have a bad manner towards other people and the situation itself.
"Asian" Family Rules
It's kind of hard to explain to someone who grew up in a different family environment why you're not allowed to go outside. It's totally different from explaining why you're scared to tell your parents something that will just disappoint them.

Individuals are considered as immersed inside their collective identity in individualistic societies, and the concept of a distinct, independent self is overlooked. The family and its principles, decision-making by agreement instead of a popular referendum, and a faith-motivated willingness to work hard have all been emphasized in the Asian value systems argument.

Authoritative parents and tough parents are similar in that they both employ neglectful parenting techniques. My family has many rules in the house that will not make sense to other people. It sometimes can be understood but at most times, I don't think other people can survive. Some may even abandon their families because it is like someone holding your neck and you can't do anything but fight back or let go.
Growing up, I wasn't allowed most things that a child should do. At one point, I went to a birthday party of my classmate alongside my friend and everything was pretty well. We were a bit early on the house so we decided to go out and tell our other friends to come to the party because the birthday girl is also preparing the food. When we came back, I found my so-called "father" waiting outside, asking me to come home. I have a terrible relationship with my father now but at the time, I know that he was just strict. I didn't even get a chance to bite my food because I am required to go home. I didn't actually act like a child because I know that it was for my safety, although my friends were a bit disappointed, I just have to deal with it. There's even one time that I went to a classmate's house to practice for a dance that we were tasked to do. Since school ends at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, obviously, we will end up the practice by night. And since after the practice, I really want to go home already, I rode a tricycle. When I came home, my mom got really worried since my grandfather is supposed to pick me up. I didn't know that he will come to me and also, one of the rules back then is never to ride in any form of vehicle that isn't owned by a member of the family. That was a fault on my part. Transitioning to college, I had a lot of added rules since I decided to study in the city. One of which is the curfew. Although other people will think of it as immature since I have to decide for myself, my reason is that I don't want to have my parents worried about me. I am a girl so there's a lot of added reasons why I can't go out most of the time by myself. Although there are times that I should be doing something fun for myself, I still think about the people who will be worried if I go out with people who they don't trust.
I know that all of these things are just part of the protection that they want for me. I'm the first grandchild and also a girl so every eye was on me. I have no trouble or problem with these rules and regulations, however, when I say these stories of mine to my friends, they are a bit worried about me and they tell me that I seem to be living in prison. I know that no one would feel the same way that I do when I follow those rules because we don't live in the same household and we don't have the same parents.

Almost everything that we see when we go out or even just stay at home is a work of art. It's something that we almost ignore and sometimes see as a boring thing when it actually makes everything fun. The designs of software in your laptop or applications installed on your phone has art. The books you read, whether it's fictional or realistic is a work of art. The music that you play when you walk around the city or just in the shower is art. So I don't really know why people think that it's something that is down there. I honestly think that the overall picture of art is underrated and that it is supposed to have a lot of recognition compared to how people see it. Several excellent artists don't really receive adequate acclaim from the public, and their output has a little financial benefit. The job can also put the artist under a lot of serious strain, causing them to drift away from the world.
There are many reasons why art gives a burden or artist's shoulders. Individuals aiming to make a livelihood purely from the market of their work must invest a significant amount of effort in encouraging potential consumers and establishing recognition. The proportion of generosity given to the arts has a big influence on artists' livelihood. Content creation professionals who work remotely sometimes work more than the minimum work hours to meet or exceed customer desire while also maintaining their inventive and trustworthy identities. I have seen a wedding couple who downgraded a photographer for his job because it was "easy". Photography is never easy. It isn't just about clicking the shutter button and you have a picture already. Celebration photos are not selfies, they are memories that are meant to be captured well and without proper dedication to lightings, poses, props, and anything else that will make a photo beautiful, it isn't worth a penny. The camera alone is already a huge amount of money and you are paying someone, not only for their skills that they acquired and practice for yours but also for their time to be in your celebration.

How is Human Nature Molded by Culture?
Our reflections in the mirror are who we are. It might not something we like or look forward to being, but it's us. And it's complicated and painful for people who want to get out of their "comfort zone". Like if you were born to wear a Hijab and you don't really like it, it will be disrespectful towards that culture, even if we have freedom of expression. As we all know, the hijab, which was formerly worn as a scarf that covered one's skin and hair, could only be removed in front of relatives or females. As a result, a Muslim woman wearing the hijab will normally avoid displaying her hair to any guy who is not connected to her by blood.
Although freedom of expression comes with a responsibility, it isn't applicable to some situations.
Human nature encompasses the basic features that all humans share. We all have diverse perceptions involving humans during our lives, and this is where disagreements arise. You will most likely hear that humans are either kind or that they are 'predators' or that they are 'capable of immense generosity.'
Humans talk differently and speak differently, depending on which environment they are in. However, it doesn't stop them from learning the right way to act, speak and think about something. I think one of the main reasons why people are different from one another is because we have beliefs that the older generation passed onto us to be able to live like them. It will be very hard to be a different version since you can't just unfollow rules that are made to be able to fit in.
For ages, culture has shaped how people exist and develop. According to the researchers, human adaptations are more affected by culture and necessitate the use of gene expression to adjust.
Culture is the soul of a functional economy, manifested in the various ways in which we tell our tales. When people have the same culture, they tend to vibe with one another since they understand each other. Our developmental education shapes who and what we are and allows us to perceive the world differently from others. One thing that I noticed is that the way we speak actually gets passed to the kids who listen to us. It's probably why those who have accents, even if they are orphans or not really born from that country, can learn quickly because they communicate with people with the same accents. For example, I grew up in a conservative family. And even if it's just my mother who takes care of us right now, the rules are still there. When I moved to the city for college, it was like a different dimension. Although most movies I see and for all the news I have seen and heard that made me, at least, get prepared for what I will witness when I go there, it wasn't enough for me to be able to adjust properly. In the province, we have a very early sleep time, compared to the city, it seems like even after midnight, you can still hear people. I know that we have different body clocks and different obligations to do, I am still shocked at what I have witnessed when I got into college. I was not able to meet a lot of people because I don't really know how they think and act to someone who is new to their area and it's beneficial for me to just stick with myself. I am also told at most times to speak up or be "noisy" since I'm too quiet, but my reason is that most of the time, I really have nothing to say. I don't have a lot of stories in my pocket to tell to somebody and on top of that, I have trust issues. When I do meet people to be my friends, I have to adjust once again to their lifestyle standards. One of which is they can stay up all night doing something, productive or not. I am not that kind of person because it hurts my body, mentally and physically. These things are some examples of how a person is molded differently towards other cultures.
We now exist in a world that seems to be smaller than it once was. I think that as we have much more people than before, there are times that new culture will sprout from places. We must exchange meanings in order to properly work and interact. This is probably why we have a Universal Language. That language is used to be able to understand one another. This frequently necessitates understanding cultural diversity and sharing cultural knowledge. Culture has an impact on our principles, perceptions, and behavior patterns. And from the other side, we are cultural agents who influence it.
The Harsh Truth I Choose to Ignore
Truth corresponds to the real world, whereas beliefs may or may not relate to reality. It is true when a belief corresponds to reality. When a belief describes reality in a way that is not true, that assumption is inaccurate. Truth has two big drawbacks: it is frequently complicated and needs work to grasp, yet few people have the intellectual capacity to be interested in it. It is rarely impressive, and there is little enjoyment to be had.
The attribute of being in accordance with fact or reality is known as truth. Truth is often assigned to anything that tries to reflect reality or else correspond to it, such as beliefs, assertions, and declarative phrases, in ordinary language. Truth is commonly thought to be the polar opposite of a lie. Constantly expressing the reality of the situation seems to have no disadvantages; yet, there are times when you may end up losing everything or suffer the greatest loss by stating what you believe to be true.
We have truths that hold us accountable for what we do and who we are. We, most of the time, lie because we choose to ignore the reality of the outcome of our actions. Some may lead to a good-to-bad consequence and some will lead to a painful moment. Ironically, the more and more time you spare assuming that fundamental realities do not occur, the less time did you spend becoming your real self and making it through to the next valuable time.
There are some truths that we choose to ignore and don't even plan as if it will not happen any moment.
One epitome can be that we will die and we have no idea when it will come. We all want to enjoy life to the fullest or at least live longer to be able to see and meet new people that will come into our lives. Unfortunately, the fact that we don't even know if we will wake up tomorrow is very unsettling. You with everyone you care about will die someday. It's an unnerving concept, but it's unavoidable. Only if you have a hidden longevity medication that I'm not aware of. Rather than being deluded about dying, we should accept the truths of life as they are. That means being grateful for what you have rather than pining for what you do not really. Stop acting as though you're unbeatable. Recognize your own existence, and afterward begin to structure your daily lives in a much more significant way.
Another truth that we ignore is that actions really speak louder than words. Although we are though this one as a saying that we say to someone who usually utter words and we want them to stick with it, there is a much deeper meaning to it. I actually take this idiom in a very serious manner. I usually advise people on what to do in normal daily life and then I just find myself doing the opposite thing at any time. Although I become aware of my mistakes it isn't a valid reason for me to say sorry about it. Like for example, I always tell my aunt to at least clean the house, or even just the area where she sleeps but I am having a hard time cleaning mine because of too much work in school and in the house. I have a reason since I can't clone my body to do other things and she has nothing to do since she doesn't really have a job because of some reasons. However, we are both in the same boat and we both have to do the same amount of responsibility. I think that the best way to say sorry is to change for the better. I don't trust people who say sorry and do otherwise.
Moving on to the harsh truth that I choose to ignore. The truth that completely baffles me is that "Practice is better than Intelligence". As for Perkins (1995), we may improve our intelligence via study and practice, access to proper resources, and understanding how to utilize these skills effectively. I am in my 20's and it's important for me to find a path that is capable of making me successful to be able to help my family and to make my mother proud of me. I am tired of seeing her work for us but at the same time, I can't find work for now since I have so much stuff to do and that stuff will completely ruin everything if I don't get them right. I always have the urgency and passion to sharpen my skills and get really good at what I do, which is Programming, but at the same time, it's hard when you have tons of paper works to submit and those works are not done overnight. Expertise studies suggest that concentrated practice could be the only driver of skill, whereas intellectual ability researchers emphasize the relevance of abilities at even the greatest level of performance. My intelligence doesn't define my skills and that's what completely upsets me. I find myself lacking the ability to answer multiple questions in a Programming quiz but I am good with the coding itself like when professors ask us to build a website and database. However, intelligence is not a fixed quality. It is a changing, adaptable opportunity to know and broaden your horizons that may develop with time. Specific lifestyle practices may aid in the enhancement of your fundamental intellect.
Are Emotions Necessary for Human Survival?
We think differently when we feel something. Our actions can be easily manipulated by how we feel about a situation. I honestly think that most of the time, it becomes the basis of what we say and what we do. The words that will come out of our mouth whenever we feel anger can and will be different if we say those words when we feel happy. Although there are people who can control their emotions when they are doing something important, the concept of feeling differently can have a massive negative impact.
We will sudden feelings which, at most times, it wasn't planned so we don't know which thought to go. If we got carried by the tense situation, we will do things that are out of our league to the point that it will lead to uncomfortable actions.
Emotional responses assist us to connect effectively with other people, including when we experience sadness and could use some comfort. Whenever we have a problem and we want somebody to listen to us to be able to rant and get that burst words out for us to feel better and we have no one for us, it will just make everything worse. The worst is that when you say it to someone and they say something like, "Just deal with it" or "It will pass soon.", they don't really care about how you feel and how the situation affected you. I know that we can't really force people to say something that we want to hear, but at the time, if a person has a big problem, we have to think twice whenever we open our mouths. This is why there are people who commit suicide because it will end the pain since no one else cares. Most of the time, when a person experiences a sad or painful situation, there are people who want them to say something, but when these victims do that, they are just being defined as over-dramatic. That's why these people just keep everything to themselves to be able to at least not increase the pain inside.
Emotions also can help us to behave rapidly in key situations. If there's a fire, the first you will feel is fear and panic. Not everybody is trained to be able to react properly when there is a fire in an establishment or in a house. We will positively have different responses. Some people might get all-important belongings, even if they are heavy to be carried out, some people will rush to their loved ones to be able to save them, some will put out the fire first, and some will just go straight outside to be safe. We can't blame those who are only trying to save themselves because they have been in a situation where no one wants and no one tends to wish to happen.
Whenever you're going to cross the road and notice a car approaching faster than usual, panic makes you jump back onto the roadside. The next thing you feel is anger because the driver must be drunk or just be a block-headed human being. There are people who really don't care about the people around them, as long as they are living and breathing nicely, they will not tend to think twice about hurting somebody.
I actually like true crime horror stories. It's not really a good vibe for someone who grew up in a conservative family since crime horror stories tell the story of both the victims and the criminals. Like there is a case that turned into a movie that talks about a daughter who was locked in a basement for over two decades and got impregnated by her own father, I actually don't like watching the movie version because whenever there is a ~~rape~~ scene, I feel uncomfortable. At the same time, I just want to punch that guy in the throat. Although I don't really think that there will come a time that I will hurt somebody physically because that's just inhuman action, you never really know what life is and what life has to offer. What's really bogging about the case is that the mother doesn't even notice a single different thing about her husband. Like I know there is this thing called woman intuition, which I think most women have or even probably all of us have, where we will have that gut feeling that something smells fishy and we need to at least do something. Well, I was told before that if a person doesn't have a conscience, the feeling of pity will never get in the way.
Emotions trigger responses. We may not like how we respond to a situation, but it's normal behavior, based on how we are as human beings. My normal response might be different from yours since we think differently, even if we are in the same boat.
If You Could Go Back in Time, Would You?
We always have that moment where we just remember something and we either cringe or just laugh that we did that. I know a lot of people who actually enjoyed their childhood and are grateful for what they have experienced. I also do know some people who want to just restart their lives because of the terrible things that happened and I was one of them.
I did a lot of horrible moments back then and I really regret doing most of them because I didn't get to enjoy the moment, not because I was not participating or doing something productive, but because I have people who judge me because of my physical appearance and my inability to join their preference. I really don't know how people live every day knowing that they are hurting someone, or maybe they didn't know that what they did hurt someone and they just didn't care about it. It is hard for someone like me to be bullied at a young age because I thought I was doing better. The worst part is that I didn't receive any care because when I told someone, really close and I really love, that I was being bullied in school, I was victim-blamed. That is the point where I just stop talking about my feelings to anyone because I will just get more hate about it. I do have times where I want to share some of my experiences with somebody but there's always a kick in the mind where maybe they will not listen or understand what I'm trying to say.
One of the things that fascinated me about going back in time is that I will relive a moment I always wanted to. People can actually be with their loved ones who are already at peace now and just listen to their stories and watch the stars at night. I was 10 years old when my grandmother died and it was one of the most devastating things that I witnessed. I didn't understand most of what is happening back then and there are moments that I just realized just now. Like the fact that my uncle was not obliged to somehow get involved in my grandmother's therapy and cure to the point that I resent him for doing that. He made a point that he paid for my grandfather's medicines so it's time for the other siblings to pay for my grandmother and I just know that I felt like he didn't really care about his own mother. If I just knew what happened, I could have done something. I could have sold some of my clothes to be able to pay for grandma's medicine.
Moments like this could have been different if we just looked at the bigger picture. The past and the future have a basic asymmetry: the past is a collection of decisive occurrences, but the future is uncertain, unknown, and unfixed. The same time we decide to live in the dark ages is the precise point we should leave it behind. It's not simple to let go of the past and let go of the people or things who have damaged you. Reconciliation is vital, but it isn't always readily available. Sometimes folks are managed to shove past the entities who have wounded them, whereas others allow it to consume them. Because you'll never completely let go of what has already been done, you can never be able to gain decent current circumstances.
One thing that I hate about bringing up something from the past is that people will use it as if it will destroy you. If you are a celebrity, it is really hard to explain something to people of different ages, cultures, and beliefs because most of them are entitled to their opinions. And once you start to say something, they will just get back in their evil ways to bring down your career. In the show business industry, it must have been hard to just make people say everything about you because comments are not just words you read on the internet, they can and will hurt someone to the point that they will end their lives. I have huge respect for people who actually understand change and how it will affect a person's attitude and personality. History by itself doesn't reflect a person's behavior. People embrace change and it's always the best thing in life.
Frustration, anguish, and bewilderment might arise when you are injured by someone you respect and trust. There are people who can forgive easily than others, and I have to admit that I'm one of the people who can't forgive easily. For me, I just think that if I forgive someone who did a very terrible and traumatic thing to me, I just accept the fact that what happened is just right which is not. But I still respect the people who can improve their forgiving skills. However, I also know that if you forgive, you are letting go of the grudges.
One must embrace wherever he/she is right now and believe that those decisions or failures were done for a purpose to accomplish happiness. Like myself, I do know people who are having a hard time accepting their mistakes, and it's not because of their ego, but because they are holding onto something. And I can't really blame them because not everyone can move on and deal with life that easily. We are not wearing the same shoes and we are not living in the same shell, so we can't judge the people who are not tough in life. We have to be understanding towards them so they can be able to stand up and continue moving.
Why You Should Always Tell the Truth?
Is it possible to lie to be able to maintain a reputation? Is it okay to lie if I don't want to hurt the feelings of my loved one? Am I just lying because my ego is hurt and I don't want to look like I'm the disappointment of the family? We all ask ourselves these things when we try to tell something that isn't the right one.
We all know the saying "Honesty is the best policy." and actually, I still do believe in this one. It is so hard to tell lies, especially since it comes back to you in the worst way possible. There are times that we do have to lie because we have reasons and we have people that we don't want to get hurt but at the same if we look deeper into it when we lie, we are already hurting that someone. I do think that the result will just be worse than what the liar's thinking.
The truth is important to us as individuals as well as to society as a whole. Being real allows us to develop and progress as individuals, learning from our errors. Truthfulness strengthens social relationships, whereas lying and hypocrisy weaken them. Believing something that isn't real is likely to derail people's goals and perhaps put their lives in jeopardy. Telling lies might result in legal and societal consequences. The excellent scientist, the good historian, and the good detective, on the other hand, are all committed to finding the truth. In the absence of facts that are as dependable and accurate as the circumstances allow, more often than not, communicators do harm or injustice rather than do good and act fairly. In order to combat erroneous, twisted, or deceptive factual information, noble intent are insufficient.
Today and throughout history, disagreements on what is real or factual are prevalent. While there are still disagreements over what truth is and how to evaluate it, everyone agrees on the significance of stating the truth. There are instances that the history is written in a different way to make people believe in something the writers want them to believe and to destroy an opponent to make themselves look better. It will be hard for the new generation to actually believe in books when in the first place, it was written in a perspective to show how good this one is and how bad the other one is. The trustworthiness and quality of facts and information are being treated with increasing skepticism by a growing number of communicators in mass discourse. Some argue that facts are irrelevant in public interaction and judgment calls, relying instead on confirmation bias and irrational thinking, and even dismissing facts as "white noise" to be ignored in order to achieve a purpose.
Even if our perceptions of reality fluctuate, the truth remains constant. The world was once thought to be flat. The reality of the world did not change when it was discovered that it is round rather than flat; it was only our belief that changed.
One thing that I find fascinating about someone who always tells the truth is that I can be able to trust them. I have trust issues so it's hard for me to put trust in someone, even if we are talking for a long time. I do have friends but I don't have best friends. It's clear to see how our culture is experiencing some serious issues. We're also seeing greater issues with "hatred," which rejects acceptance and is imposed via different forms of punishment. Everyone despises a liar. He has really no credibility. He may be successful for a limited moment, but he is doomed to fail in the long term. Nobody is willing to assist a lie. Nobody assigns him any assignment that requires him to be accountable. In business, he is unable to shine. Individuals will stop doing business with a restauranteur or singer who lies.
Falsehoods may be used to hide actual sentiments, making it possible to avoid doing things we would rather not do and improve our appearance. The mentality that the one who professes it has no bearing on the validity. An egotistical person cannot make his own truth wrong, and a humble person cannot make his own error true. They have the potential to harm not just the person to whom we lie, but also oneself. We may not always consider the true reasons why lying is the worst option as grownups. Ego is the first step toward dishonesty. It begins whenever we are unable to comprehend a traumatic event. We tell the first lie to ourselves.
Humans can't quite tell if the fact of the matter will indeed come out, but we can be sure that it will at some point. The individual who possesses this information wields the most influence over what will or will not be disclosed. Lack of integrity is almost usually the outcome of a desire to escape suffering on a certain level. In each scenario, honesty is the ability to tell oneself the underlying honesty. The risk of a falsehood getting out might be the most difficult element. Fear of the exposure ultimately coming to light might consume a cheerful mind and generate a great deal of tension.
