Carnival-themed Reading Booths In support to the *Brigada Pagbasa*, which aims to help every learner of the community become fluent in reading, the school where I currently works as a learning facilitator launched the ***reading materials pantry.*** Most of my fellow countrymen probably knows or even experienced getting some supplies from community pantries wherein those who are in capacity donates some supplies, mostly are food supplies and placed it in an area where everyone in the community are welcome to get what they need for free. With this in mind, our school head proposed the Reading Materials Pantry. She told us that if food supplies can be given out for free, why not give reading materials for free as well? It was a week later after this proposal was finally put into action. PREPARATION In preparation for the launching of the program, we prepared a big *tarpapel* banner. It is the same with banners printed in tarpaulins, the difference is that we printed it in bond papers.

We consumed a total of one hundred twenty (120) pieces of 8.5x13" long bond paper for this. It is one of the biggest banners ever made at school they said.

Here's the end-product of our hours of effort. Every grade level also prepared the carnival themed booths to make it more fascinating. KINDERGARTEN

For the Kindergarten team, we decided to make a **Toy Land -** themed booth as it perfectly fits for the young learners who surely loves toys and balloons. We brought toys and some are donated and given along with the reading materials. I don't know how to make an animal-shaped balloon, but I immediately learned how to make it, thanks to the wisdom from Youtube lol.

Here's what the inside looks like. We placed the story books here. But those story books are only for display. We printed out reading materials to be given to the parents, since children are not yet allowed to go to school. Along with the reading materials, we also provided free school supplies such as papers, pencils and sharpeners and to make the kids happier, we gave them cupcakes too. GRADE ONE

Here's what the grade one team made: **Candy Land-**themed booth. This one looks so cute in person. I took the photo when the reading materials are not yet placed on the booth. GRADE TWO

The grade 2 team also made a very cute booth which is **Circus-**themed. They have cool magician hats and interesting reading materials and books in English. GRADE THREE

**Ticket booth**-themed booth. This is what the grade 3 team prepared and I think it's the simplest yet very cute booth. GRADE FOUR

What about the grade 4? Well, here's their awesome booth - a **Photo Booth!** What's more interesting about this is that they only made the booths out of scraps they asked from other grade levels! GRADE FIVE

I forgot what they call this, but I think this is a **Game booth.** You ever been to carnival before? There are games where you can win prizes, and this is their theme. GRADE SIX AND SPED

There is only one special education class in the school, so the SPED teacher was assigned to help with the booth of the grade six. I think this is the **Rides-**themed reading materials booth. I also took the photo while they are still decorating the booth. It was indeed a tiring day when the reading materials pantry was launched, but there is a sense of accomplishment and happiness knowing that it could help the learners.
