Best Friends Forever Tony and Mark were both childhood friends, they grew up together in the same neighborhood, they attended the same school since they were a child. Their parents were both families friends, and the fact that Tony and Mark are born at the same year and the same month. They did everything together, Tony had slept off in Mark's house countless times and Mark had done the same. They were both close that everyone gets jealous of their friendship. When in school, they were both partners in everything. When they both applied for their choice of university, Tony gained admission into the university, but Mark couldn't get admitted, Tony chooses Electrical Engineering while Mark chooses Microbiology. He didn't want to leave Mark alone and go to school but his friend wouldn't allow him to do such. He wouldn't forfeit his admission for his sake. Mark promises to do better the next year so he could meet him in school. After so much persuasion, Tony finally agrees to go to school ahead of Mark, they both wept because this is the first time they will be separated, it was hard for both of them to separate but they both summoned courage with the hope of seeing each other very soon. Throughout the first month in school, Tony was sad because he missed his dear friend Mark, he finds it hard to make friends with others because nobody could be as the same as his friend. It's finally the Mid-semester break, the two friends were both happy to be together again, there is already a lot to talk about, what they have both experienced alone for the past two months. They slept late that night, they were busy laughing and chatting that they didn't realize it's already late. The bond between these two friends seems unbreakable, even though they fought alot, they disagreed and argue, yet they were both reasonable to settle things between themselves. When Tony returns back to school they both happily departed unlike the first departure which was uncomfortable. Even though Tony had made new friends in school, he still holds his dear friend close to his heart. Mark remains his one and only best friend. There comes a time where Tony hadly have time to talk to Mark on phone, his first year in school was so busy with rigorous activities and busy schedules, Mark, who was still at home thought his friend had abandoned him, he have heard many rumours about school life, how many students chase the irrelevant and loses focus. He feared this has happened to his friend. He thought Tony had found a new friend and forgotten about him. At the end of the semester, Tony came back home and meets Mark unhappy he was upset with the way Tony reacts anytime he calls him in school. Tony takes time to explain to him that he had been very busy in school that's why they were only able to talk for few moments. With different challenges and experiences, Tony and Mark's became stronger, they were finally able to understand each other perfectly. They never doubted each other. Even after Mark couldn't gain admission into the same university Tony was, they still remain very close. Lead Image from unsplash Thank you for your time.

Awero the pretty lady! Awero was a very beautiful lady. It was as if God did "extra work" on her when He was creating her. Awero was the cynosure of all eyes anywhere she went. Many suitors sort for her hand in marriage but Awero did not consent. Very rich influential and notable young men came to put pressure on her parents to grant them the chance to marry their daughter. Awero was not only pretty she was smart and intelligent. When her parents were getting worried about the number of suitors and how she would successfully sift the wheat from the chaff and get best man unknown to them, Awero had already perfected her plans. She had a joker to use as litmus test for all prospective suitors. Awero narrowed her choice to three men. She felt any of the pretty and handsome men would suit her but she was not sure of their character. How would she ascertain the character of the one that she will eventually choose and present to her parents. The three contending suitors never knew each other because they came at different time. Awero visited an old wise woman as Solomon was, she told Awero the exact thing to do so that two suitors would be eliminated and retain the best. Awero collected all the gifts and cash brought by each of the three suitors. In a very clever way she kept a good record of all the items presented to her out of their own volition in order to win her heart. The record of cash donated was securely and meticulously kept. After a considerable period of time, Awero felt she should carry the test on all the three suitors as instructed by the old wise woman. One day, Awero brought out her joker. She told her parents to inform all her suitors that she was dead, after a brief illness. She gave her parents all the gifts and cash given to her by the men seeking her hand in marriage. Whoever came and heard of her death should be given all the gifts and cash given to her if the man requested for them. Two suitors came one after the another and they were told of Awero's death. Each of them brought out a catalogue of gifts already given to Awero. They were presented to her thinking she will marry them. They requested for an urgent refund of all gifts presented in cash and kind, failure to do so may result in their arrest. Since a contingency arrangement had been made by Awero before their arrival, her parents returned their gifts. When the third or the last suitors came, he wailed and lamented the tragic and sudden death of Awero. He expressed his sympathy to Awero's parents and promised to pay them another condolence visit again. The third suitor did not ask for his refund of gifts already given to Awero when Awero's parents expressed their readiness to give him all his donation, he turned down the offer. He promised to contribute to the burial of Awero, a lady hevloved very well. The action of the third suitor showed his strength of character, his genuine and sincere love for Awero. Later, Awero was given a report of the response of the three suitors, she immediately choose the third suitor to be her husband. His actions marked him out! He was not a gambler but had genuine love for her. The parents were surprised. They didn't know at last that Awero would cleverly choose the best out of all the suitors. If you are being disturbed as a lady by many men, ask for wisdom (among other things) and you will get the best! Lead Image: unsplash Thanks for reading.

Pressure from seniors I grew up in the village or rural area and as a result I spent a long time on the farm. I know how to climb trees. In fact, I can compete well with monkeys, it's not an exaggeration. When I got admission into secondary school, our boarding house was boys affair. Some seniors boys were quiet old of age. Some were almost ten years older than the junior ones. Any act of disobedience was met with harsh punishment - sometimes it could be physical action like slapping, a knock on the head or severe beat. All a senior does is pull out his belt and use it as a whip. Not very far from our hostel is a farm with very sweet mangoes that almost everybody like to lick or suck. During mangoes seasons efforts were made to pluck mangoes from this farm which actually belongs to a retired civil servant. He planted them during his active days as a civil servant. His plan was to live on the proceeds of the mango trees after retirement. The quantities of mangoes obtained from the farm was substantial and could fetch him some reasonable amount of money. Due to pressure from seniors I was usually dragged to the farm to steal mangoes. When I mount the tree, the seniors will stay under the tree to collect the fruits I pluck. As days went on, the nefarious activity continued, without the knowledge of the school authority. Unknown to us, the owner of the mango trees had been watching and planning to catch us and deal sqaurely with us. On that fateful day, I mounted one mango tree as usual plucking all the mangoes I could reach. All of a sudden, the owner of the mango trees emerged from no where. All the senior boys disappeared and escaped. I was small and pretty little boy. Most of the time, the senior boys would threaten and mount pressure on me to climb the trees. I tried to hide within two big branches of the big mango tree. It's usually said that "every day is for the thief, but one is for the owner" we had stolen many days before without being caught but this day, it was the turn on the owner to catch us. My school shirt with my school number 555 written in it was left behind by my seniors. This gave the mango owner the idea that a boy was on top of the tree. Apart from this, a big long snake was creeping towards me so I had no choice but to start my downward movement if I don't, the snake will strike. I need not want for it I thought. I had wanted to jump down graphics my shirt and run away but the owner of the mango tree had collected, my school uniform and memorised my school number. I was almost landing when the man shouted "small boy, if you jump down and run I will report you to the school authority. I have your school shirt with me and I know your school number" My school number was unique. The number 555 was virtually known to every student in the school. I calmly accepted my fate, and gently alighted from the tree. My seniors were not around to act as my "solicitor and advocate". When the man saw me, he took pity on me. He asked three questions. Small boy were sent to school to steal mangoes or study? Would your parents be happy to hear that you were caught stealing mangoes? What will be your fate if I report you to the school authority? I knew I could be suspended by the school authority for my act of indiscretion. The man counselled me and instruct me never to allow the senior to put pressure on me to do what could land me into trouble. He added, "obedience is better than sacrifice". From that day I resolve to stop climbing trees. If I had fallen from any of the mango trees would my seniors own up? Even in this case, my seniors did not bother to ask me how I escaped from the owner of the mango. I expressed thanks to the man who took pity on me because of my age and tenderness. Now that I am of age, I still wonder how I could climb such a big and tall mango trees. I also thank God I did not fall down, got injured and truncate my education. The Bible says, "when I was a child, I spoke like a child, I understood as a child, I thought like a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things.
