Mixed vegetable with Lentil Dumpling. *Lentil Dumpling is the one best thing to enhance the flavor of curries. It's something very original to our cuisine and no need to say how much we love it. Every year, my mom usually sends me Lentil Dumplings. I preserve them and use them into curries or mashed them as a simple side dish for a year long.* If you are wondering what lentil dumplings are, then here's a recipe I found on the web that you can follow. We call the dumplings 'Bori' which is a mashed dried version of Urad Dal/Lentils. They are not very flavorful but when they soak the flavors of the curry, they become really tasty. https://www.banglarecipes.com.au/daler-bori-lentil-dumpling/
Today, I'm gonna share with you one simple dish that we make using dumplings. **What do we need?** Any kind of vegetable you want to add. I took pointed guard, taro, potato, and tomato. Cumin seeds Onion and chili Lentil dumplings Egg (optional) Turmeric powder and salt. The ingredients are so simple but the curry is super tasty. Let's see the process. Sliced onion and chili on the pan. The vegetables go on the pan after the onion is fried with cumin seeds. I added some water to make it gravy. Let the curry cook for a while and in the meantime, we need to prepare our dumplings.
Here's how they look. We need to bake the dumplings on both sides for a while to make them crispy before adding them to the curry. This is what they will look like after baking on a pan. I cooked them thoroughly for five minutes. When the curry is well cooked and the dumplings became soft, I added some slices of tomatoes and some pieces of egg omlate. Before turning off the heat I sprinkle some mixed spice power on the top. And it will be done.
This is what the curry will look like. It's so well going with steamed hot rice. What I love most is the soft dumplings, they become full of taste and melt in the mouth. If anyone is looking for some authentic taste of Bangladeshi cuisine, I would suggest having this recipe. The flavor is worth it. Have a good day, everyone.
