Despite ongoing complaints about long queues and overcrowding at EDSA Carousel stations, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Information and Communications Technology officially rolled out the Free Wi Fi for All program across 17 busway stations. The initiative, part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s digital connectivity agenda, provides unlimited internet access to commuters along one of Metro Manila’s busiest transport routes. Government officials said the program is intended to help passengers remain productive and connected during their commute, allowing access to work, school resources, and essential online services while waiting or traveling. However, the launch has drawn mixed reactions from the public, with many commuters pointing out that while free internet is helpful, it does not directly address the daily challenges of long waiting times and capacity issues along the busway. Transport analysts note that digital connectivity can improve commuter experience but should complement, not replace, solutions to crowd management and service efficiency.
