Napaka-walanghiyang tao daw ni Vice Ganda sabi ni Senator Marcoleta dahil naging punchline ang itsura ni Senator sa isang joke. Sa joke ni Vice Ganda, ang sabi niya, “Tingnan mo si Marcoleta. Tingnan mo kung matatawa ka.” I mean, Vice wasn’t wrong. Marcoleta does seem to have all semblance of joy sucked out of him. Also, baka nga mas kailangan natin ng mga “walanghiya” sa lipunan tulad ni Vice. Imagine keeping “It’s Showtime” alive all throughout the pandemic just so its crew won’t lose their jobs when the franchise of ABS-CBN was denied, thanks by the way to Macoleta who spearheaded the whole thing with false claims and baseless violations. While Marcoleta couldn’t care any less for the 11,000 people who lost their jobs because he happily took on the cudgels of being the main attack dog against ABS-CBN in the middle of the pandemic, Vice Ganda Distributed PPEs to hospitals such as the Lung Center, San Lazaro, and Quezon City General Hospital. Vice likewise provided financial assistance to over 400 employees of Vice Cosmetics, which included the early release of 13th-month pay and non-conditional cash support. Let’s not forget that also in 2020 while everything remained uncertain with the loss of ABS-CBN’s franchise, Vice Ganda launched a fundraiser for victims of Typhoon Ulysses, raising over P1 million in a day. For Typhoon Odette victims, Vice and fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts donated their talent fees. The initiative was announced during a live broadcast in December 2021. Let’s not mention Vice being consistently recognized as one of the country’s biggest individual taxpayers year after year. And Vice is not even a politician nor a public servant who should be compelled to lend a helping hand to fellow Filipinos. So kung si Vice din lang ang definition pala ng “walanghiya”, I’d rather be one than be a franchise-killing, job-murdering, thin-skinned lawmaker easily offended by a joke in a comedy show he didn’t even watch because why would he? What with a face where any sign of happiness is hard to find.
