@re-joyce more from that month

Is it worth commuting for a 28k job BULACAN to BGC? Based on real stories here’s what Work Is Life PH Community say: 1. Is the commute physically worth it? Nope. The daily grind will wear you out fast. 💬 “Daily commute just drains all your energy.” 2. Will your salary even be enough? Barely. Most of it goes to transport and food. 💬 “Your 28k salary is gone on just food and transport.” 3. Is the stress manageable? Not really. It’s too much for what you’re getting. 💬 “You’ll burn out before you even see results.” 4. Should you just rent instead? Yes most say it’s the only way to survive. 💬 “Just rent trust me, commuting will ruin you.” 5. Worth it if it’s for experience? Maybe, but only short-term with clear goals. 💬 “I endured it for a year only because I had a career goal.” 6. Will having a car or motor help? Still no. Traffic is the great equalizer. 💬 “Car or motorbike? Still a big NO.” 7. Does weather and traffic make it worse? Absolutely. It turns hard days into nightmares. 💬 “Rain, strikes, or holidays? Total chaos.” 8. Is WFH really better? Yes. Everyone recommends it over this setup. 💬 “Look for WFH jobs it’s not worth doing daily.” 9. Can you stick with it long-term? Most couldn’t. They gave up after weeks or months. 💬 “Tried it for a month never again.” ✍️ My Experience: As someone who used to commute daily from outside Manila to Makati, I can tell you if we’re talking about fatigue and traffic, it’s not worth it. Traffic eats up your time, and long hours on the road wear you down. You need to be smart with your money. Calculate your daily transport costs and factor in the stress and wasted hours. Then compare that with the cost of renting and food. If the difference isn’t that big rent instead. Promise, your body and sanity will thank you. I did the daily commute for over a year only because I had a clear goal to gain experience from that company. I made it through, but if I could go back, I would’ve done things differently. If I had thought it through, I would’ve just rented near the office instead of forcing myself to travel that far every day. I used to wake up at 3 AM just to make it on time, and I’d get home at 9 PM because of traffic. It was exhausting and just not sustainable. And honestly, I could’ve done so much more if I wasn’t always tired. I missed out on potential side gigs and passion projects because all my time was wasted on the road. So listen to those saying it’s not worth it. Be smart. Rent near your office if you’re starting with 28k. Focus on gaining solid experience, and once you have it, ask for a raise or apply to a company that pays better.
