A lot of people don’t understand that when I let people go, it doesn’t necessarily mean I hate them. I think we all had enough of hurting and forcing others and ourselves to fit in, to please, and to connect. And the more we do that, the more we destroy our relationships. So whenever I’m confronted by a situation and I’m well aware that its energy doesn’t align with what I want to welcome in my life, I stay true to myself and pause. I take a moment to reminisce—all that’s shared and all that’s gone—and then, I let go. Me letting people go doesn’t mean I want them to suffer, to hurt, or to realize how much they’ve lost when they lost me. I’m tired of all that. And I know, at this point, all of us are. So when you hear my goodbyes, loud or not, know that it’s not a curse. I think of ours like a comfort plushie I’ve spent lots of good memories with that I know, it’s time to let it rest. Not because I hate it now, but because I’m already grateful for the amount that of time we shared. Love, I’m not mad. I’m keeping my distance. And I wish you well.
