I may not say it, but I notice things. I can tell when someone’s energy shifts, when the tone changes, when the conversations feel forced. I know when I'm being kept at a distance, when someone’s only half-listening, half-caring. I don’t always react or bring it up because I’ve learned to let people reveal themselves. I’ve learned that silence and indifference are answers too. So I observe, take note, and slowly pull back. Not everything needs a confrontation. Sometimes, distance is the response.
