Following the examples of Vietnam, Germany, Italy, South Korea and the recently concluded UEFA Champions League, with the approval of the Games & Amusement Board, the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force, all clubs participating & personnel of the said league will be in a bubble-protected environment. Which they will stay at Seda Nuvali at Sta. Rosa, Laguna while all matches & training sessions will be held at the PFF National Training Center at Carmona, Cavite. The tournament's format will be a single-round robin playoffs and it will be a very fast one to crown the champions.
6 Teams, 1 new club, 4 of them retained their stripes and the other as a guest team, but only one will be crowned as champion. United City Football Club (formerly known as Ceres-Negros FC) will defend their title against the Azkals Development Team, Kaya FC - Iloilo, Maharlika Manila FC, Mendiola FC 1991, and Stallion Laguna FC.
I'll discuss each club with their history & achievements in the near future. As I have mentioned, 2 have now joined the tournament - starting off with the Azkals Development Team (ADT for short. For the full roster, click or tap here to visit.) Consist of young players and bolstering the new generation of Azkals. This will be the team's biggest challenge as they go toe-to-toe with the veterans on the pitch.
Maharlika Manila FC - Ang koponan ng masa (translation: The People's Club & full roster click or tap here to visit), consist of veterans of playing both from the local league and the national scene - to the likes of Misagh Bahadoran, Jerry Barbaso, Anton Del Rosario, Daniel Matsunaga, Simon Greatwitch, David Basa and Joaco Casas. Their program called Pisong Pangarap (translation: One Dream) which their aim is to be the gateway for aspiring new talents to play for this season, and upcoming tournaments.
The first match will kick off between ADT versus Mendiola FC 1991 at 9:00 am, followed by Stallions Laguna FC against Kaya FC - Iloilo at 4:30 pm, then it's Maharlika Manila FC versus United City FC at 8:00 pm.
